    Okay how about this, how does the mc3000 compare to the s2? Is it natively supported by virtual dj? Besides the lower price of the S2 and the software being included, what r the pros over the mc3000. Mind u I am pretty simple when it comes to DJing. All I need is some good loop and cue control, some effects and 2 decks. The most important detail for me is definitely build and sound quality so whichever of those posses better traits in these areas would be my pick I think

    Another option I was exploring was getting a Numark Mixdeck considering their price has gone down dramatically and I would be able to still mix off CDs or usb if my computer were to fail. Anybody else have some input?

    There is no way for me to tell how virtual DJ’s main output is metering it is always set to max by default. Ill give you an exact description of my system. Goes like this. I have a dell inspiron 1545 4g ram dual core processor running virtual dj 7. As a controller for virtual DJ I have a mixtrack pro. From the mixtrack pro I connect to a line input on my behringer eurorack ub502 mixer using an rca to 1/4in wire. Then from the mixer i plug into my alto ts115a speakers using a 1/4in to xlr wire. Now I have never tried directly connecting my speakers to my mixtrack pro for fear that I will clip the signal without noticing and damge my speakers. The problem I have is that unless my mixer is metering high into the yellow, it doesnt seem to be outputting a strong enough signal. The sound seems very washed and flat. This mixer was given to me for free so I do not know if there is a prob,em with it or it just has poor sound quality but something doesnt seem right. Its like the speakers just arent getting as much punch as they out to be. If I could get some assitance on an optimal setup to go to powered speakers from a mixtrack pro that would be great.

    My main question I need answered is how to set the volume of virtual DJ itself and whether I should even use an external mixer or go straight to the speakers with an rca to xlr cable. I have no problem with this I just don’t like the fact that I have no limit meter I can see in this case. The mixer I use also has no eq and I feel that it may be cutting some of the frequencies because the sound doesn’t have as much punch as when I switched to a really expensive mixer with eq’s on the stereo inputs.

    Sorry about that. My speakers have a volume knob that has one half in line level volume and the other in mic level as opposed to some speakers which have a button to switch from line to mic level

    Just to clarify here all all my volume control options:

    1. Master out in virtual DJ
    2. Volume of the mixtrack controlled by my laptop’s volume controls
    3. Line Channel input on the external mixer
    4. Master output on the external mixer
    5. Volume controls on the speakers themselves
