MemberI’ve been messing around with T2 demo but one thing I conclude was that the multicolored spectrum is still in need of a bit of work. But until I buy it, I’ll stick with Traktor LE
About the Crane, I first was considering Zomo’s stand but after reading a lot of reviews I ended up with the Crane but with all the extras it will cost me 385$ which is quite a bit but is nothing that a dozen gigs can’t solve. But I believe most can’t handle your pc weight, mine weights around 2,56Kg (around 5 pounds) and for me is a bit heavy for a thing mainly made of plastic…DJ Peixinho
MemberKnowing it is off your budget and avoiding the Macbooks, one pc line that must always be considered is the Envy by HP. I know it is Windows-based but it is the first line of attack against the Macbook Pro. I must even say that the Envy 14 Beats edition is quite a gorgeous and powerful catch.

MemberMy perfect setup would be:
Traktor 2 Pro
Audio 2
Kontrol X1
Maschine
but an Denon DN-SC2000 would also be considered. This is one I think is perfect because it allows to have the mixing power of Traktor with the production capabilities of Maschine at the same time, meaning that it would be a juggle between live-act and dj-set

MemberMy first controller was an Hercules DJ Console MK2, back in 2009. Now I have a NI Kontrol X1 alongside with it, but I’m thinking of ditching it and buy a Traktor Audio 2 to use in venues where there is a mixer and to be easier to move, restraining the use of the Hercules to venues where they don’t have an traditional dj mixer.

MemberI started saving for this ‘little list’:
Traktor Audio 2
Traktor 2 Pro
Traktor Bag
Maschine
Crane Stand w/ full extras
(it’s going to take a while until I get them all ticked out)DJ Peixinho
MemberI share the opinion that playing other dj’s mini-mix sets is a no-no. But I play lot of mash-ups, I must admit that sometimes I got a few parts of my sets that are pure mash-ups mixed up and can go across a lot of genres in less than what it took a night to do such thing.
June 29, 2011 at 11:10 pm in reply to: What type of person is the most annoying during your set? #1773DJ Peixinho
MemberDepending on the night, there is always a handful of people at a venue that annoy me always with the same requests or acts.
One of them is a guy who tries to offer me drinks for making me to play trance, with this request he also says that he can get a cd from his car to play from my hard drive. He even asks if I can go on youtube. Now imagine this in a venue where most of the dancefloor is female.
Another is a girl who keeps on asking for the same songs and if I say I don’t have it they ask if I can go to youtube or download it, through the wireless hotspot.
But worst of all was a group of girls, and this happened in my second to last gig, where they entered the both messed up with the controlers and even unplugged them. After that I had to play the rest of the night with keyboard and mouse.DJ Peixinho

MemberMy hold bin has around that number of tracks, if not more. What I usually do is establish an amount of how much can/want to spend and listen to all tracks. As I listen, I put them in the shopping cart if I feel that it will be highly used or if are just catchy, the rest remains on hold until demand asks for it.
But like Emma’s process, I go a bit through the same taking part of it into iTunes .DJ Peixinho

MemberFor twice I had both of my computers with 80GB or even more (most piracy). Nowadays, I have a 666Mb of music from Beatport, around 150 Mb of promos and 2Gb of Soundcloud music. However, when there are gigs outside of my main genre I just bring my CD case which has around 140 cds with the most diversified kinds of music.
But, as Phil once posted, I’ am trying to be as minimalist as I can be with music by keeping my beatport collection under the 10 Gb mark. -
