Ess Jay is absolutely right. Here’s how to do this as I’ve done plenty of high school events before. I actually started dj’ing when I was a sophmore in high school bc our Dj’s were terrible. Play all hits for the dancing portion and any type of line dance songs like the Cupid Shuffle and Teach me how to Dougie are great for when you start to feel them pulling away. As for dinner, I would absolutely suggest light songs like Ed Sheeran A Team, Maroon 5, John Mayer, Alicia Keys, etc. I have even thrown in some energy songs towards the end like some upbeat Chris Brown to kind of get them into the mood/have them dancing in their seats. Proms are awesome because music is their life, and they react like no other. If girls come up to you and request a song in a group, YOU PLAY THAT SONG. GIRLS DANCE/GUYS DANCE. Thats the name of the game
