We have only one working female DJ around here and that makes me a sad panda 🙁

As for the general stand on the point of girls DJing, most people (here) are prejudiced, for reasons unknown to me.. and that is plain stupid.

Depends on what you want it to be.. most people use it as the latter but it’s not hard to build a really portable setup for DJing using only a pad controller..

Works like a charm for me.. just stop any track and play the FMIF remix from the 2:10 point. Never failed for me.

If you can rock a party using CDJs, TTs, Winamp, wet dogs or two sticks banging together, I don’t give a damn if you use sync, no matter why. That’s basically my philosophy: if you can hold your own on all the other gear, it’s all good.

(I use sync sometimes.. when it’s the only way to get the effect I need, when I am tired and my concentration is shot and such..)

    Emma, that sounds impressive 🙂

As for me, I am a studio bassist (no more gigs, had a few hundred and got fed up), on weekends working as a DJ.. During the week (when I take off my Batman costume) I am a lowly linguistics student..

DJ? DJs are not musicians, they just press play, there is no skill in that!
Also digital DJs have the computer doing all the work for them! Herp-derp!

Just leaving on an awesome unexpected gig.. A pretty big name cancelled tonight and I was the only one free.. this could be a pretty big break for me 🙂
Tomorrow night is my regular bar night, chilled set: pop, funk, deep house, some mainstream and funky house later.
Sunday is funk night, doing a disco/funk/funky house night at a huge club nearby.
    Woo 😀
