MemberWell, most of that is handled by the software.. for example you have two faders and one button. The faders are set to control the volume of decks A and B when the button is not pressed and you can “map” them to control the volume of decks C and D when the button is pressed (just like shift on your keyboard) and in similar fashions (think caps lock for example).
As for faders jumping when you switch them, there is an option (in Traktor) called “soft takeover” which lets the fader control the level only after it had reached the point where the level was set the last time it was changed.
For example, your deck A volume is at 20% and you are controlling deck C with the same fader. The fader is at 100% when you press the button that changes the fader back to controlling deck A.. now the level won’t change until the fader reaches the point of 20% and aligns (so to say) with the level in the software and only after that will it resume controlling that value regularly.
(I hope I helped at least a bit, English isn’t my first language so I tend to get lost in some explanations 🙂 )DJ Max D.

I’ll probably be doing more of that little groove thing (on the same radio too) so I’ll also share the next one 🙂November 19, 2011 at 4:11 pm in reply to: Uplifting soulful vocal sexy funky house.. a radio mix. #1002171DJ Max D.

MemberCall me a traditionalist or whatever but for me DJing is all about spinning the things that are round. So, yes.

MemberPossibilities. Knowing that I can map my controller to work like I want it to makes it all more interesting to me than CDJs or TTs. Digital DJing is a bridge between “regular” DJing and production on the other side.. You can search your music by any element you want, you can map chained super effect knobs and whatnot but you can also put some work into creating seamless mixes and live remixes of whatever you want. The possibilities are nearly endless..

MemberYeah man, I got that mix on my phone.. one of the best I’ve heard. Awesome.

You can map vDJ?! 😀
Just kidding.. nah, I use Traktor only.November 2, 2011 at 10:44 pm in reply to: Setting up an arcade controller as a cue point player? #9310DJ Max D.
MemberYou need a program named Xpadder, it converts joypad signals to keyboard keys.. so you map the cues to certain keys and turn the program on. The only loss is that you can’t use (a part of) your keyboard.
