    DJ Pete,
Like I said it is really going to depend on where you live and how much they can afford to pay for the amount of time they want you.

Now, if they don’t want to tell you what they would pay, then make them an offer for what you would be willing to do it for. Then if they think that is to high or can’t afford that much, you can always come down and meet in the middle with them.

Above all, don’t sell yourself short just to get a gig though. Maybe too, you can ask around and see what other DJ’s in that area are getting and base your price from that. Either way, good luck and keep playing!!

Pete, not sure where you are located, but here in KY I know a local DJ that done a 4 hour car show playing 50’s & 60’s music and was paid $800. Yes, the DJ’s around here make $200 per hour.. Even for a middle school spring fling dance the DJ played for 3 hours from 6pm until 9pm and made $600 bucks. This is Coal country and they have the money to pay when they want something..

Now, this is not going to be much help if you live somewhere that money is not that easy made..

Also, it is going to depend on if you are doing the show for a car club and how much money they have to work with in their budget..
