ParticipantYou could convert the files to .MP3 files, that would also do the trick?
Pär Hessler
ParticipantI think that it might be a hardware issue or are you using Traktor on your laptop alone?
My MC6000 kills all EQs 100% in any settings…..Pär Hessler
ParticipantAlso compare to SSL that IMO suets your needs as well.

ParticipantIf you can live with trouble with iTunes intergration (at least for a while until NI has solved the problem)
Then Traktor Scratch 2 will be a good choice for you IMO.
VDJ is also good but T2 has more efx and better timecode function
You have two different Traktor scratch 2 versions to chose from
If you do not have a Traktor certified mixer you will need the soundcard from NI as well as the software…..

ParticipantTry lower the main output in VDJ and on Mixtrack pro and see if it helps?
Or if there is a autogain in VDJ as ther is in Traktor, try turning it off…..

ParticipantI do not know how to answer this without hurting your feelings but you really need to upgrade your computer to atleast a used one with Intel core Duo so thqat you can run Mac OS Snow leopard.
That way you can run Traktor 2 wich is soo much better.Otherwise try to get a copy of Traktor 1……
But it must be a better suggestion to upgrade your MacI run an old Macbook pro with Intel core Dual and 3Gb ram
With that one I can run T2Pro without issues…..Pär Hessler
ParticipantI do think that there is a reason that there is Intel in Apple computers AKA Mac!
Need I say more? 😉Pär Hessler
ParticipantIt is hard to argument against the S2 as NI has made the prisedrop.
So you might do fine with that.
But if you want a really grat unit that has a hardware 3 band EQ for the mic and a broadband echo built in in the unit 🙂
There is the Denon MC6000 and as well as I know, no other controller can match the MC6000 when it comes to mic performance!Pär Hessler

Thank you for your reply. I am in the midst of upgrading to T2 Pro as well. But I have been having problems with the upgrade from LE to T2. I bought the upgrade from NI and I was told to download a ZIP file for the PC.
I did all that and followed all the installment instructions but it still shows LE on my software. Do you know the reason?
Noted and thanks for your advise on reading the manual. I will get down to that. Can the pitch range be customized? ie can it be +/- 6%? The reason is that 8% or 10% is too wide for Denon’s pitch slider and I don’t need that much wiggle room.
Are you really 100% sure that you did install exactly as it says in the Traktor 2 Pro Manual??
http://www.native-instruments.com/fileadmin/ni_media/downloads/manuals/Traktor_2_Application_Reference_English_02.zipIf you DL the zip from my shortcut above and take a good look at Page 19 to 21 and follow the instructions you should be fine.
Also if you have a shortcut anywhere to Traktor LE please Delite that b4 installing T2P.
After you have installed the SW you need to register to NI and also download the latest upgrade if there is any.
(also read page 262)For pitchrange read page 148
In Traktor pro you can set the pitchrange to 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, 12%, 14%, 16%, 18%, 20%, 25%, 35%, 50% or 100%.Also read page 149 about tempo bend sensitivity (that is the sensetivity of the pitchbend buttons but I belive also the pitchbend on joggwheel) It might be of help to get your joggwheel pitchbending the way you want them to 🙂
I hope this help and I refer to the manual because it would be too much text here otherwise…..
Do not hesitate to ask again as I am sertain to get you to be pleased with your Denon MC3000
It is a great unit IMO!Pär Hessler
ParticipantIf you run Traktor Scratch Pro 2 you have the ability to run 4 tracks at onece.
In order to do so you will need Audio 10.
If yo go for Audio 6 you can only run 2 tracks……But if you do not have any mixer but the software I recommend a Traktor certified mixer
Because you will then not need to buy a Traktor audio 6 or 10 hardware! If you only need 2 tracks at once the Denon X600 is a good one
If you want 4 tracks the Denon X1600 or X1700 are booth goodAlso Pioneer DJM2000/900/850 are good but expenscive
A&H has some as well
There are others as well but none that I recommend…….

I recently purchased a MC3000 and I have a couple of questions if someone can be kind enough to address.
1) I found the jog wheels highly insensitive. I found that I needed to spin the jog wheels a couple of rounds to make a small correction. I compare this to the Pioneer DJ 100s where I will probably only need to turn it 1/4 of a round. Is there any way I can increase the sensitivity of the jog wheel?
You can set the sensitivity ogf the jog. Read the manual!
2) I also realised that the LEDs are not very accurate at monitoring volume the incoming sound. Any tips? I had no problems with my Kam DMX 300 mixer in the past.
Leds are very accurate. Read the manual in how they work!
3) It also seems that the current set up of Traktor and MC3000 cannot hold the transition as well compared to the Pioneer DJ 100s. What I am trying to say is that the tracks tend to drift apart quicker. This used to happen with the DJ100s as they could only be pitched to the nearest 0.1% but it was manageable and the jog wheel was more responsive.
But it seems to be a constant battle with the MC3000.
I am used to Denon and feel the exact same way when using Pioneer CDJs
It is a getting used to issue……. Give it some timeI do not know about the LE version but in Traktor pro you can set the pitchrange and % of the pitch
Read the manual for Traktor LEAlso try to use the pitchbend knobs they are IMO more accurate than any joggwheel that is not motorized.
4) The sound that I get is rather sharp and fairly light on the bass versus a warmer and rounded bass on the Kam mixer. anything I can do about this?
You proberbly have bad MP3s. They can be a slight bit better if you run them trough Platinum Notes.
http://www.platinumnotes.com/The soundcard in your MC3000 is the same as in the MC6000 wich is among the absolute best soundcards in a controller on the market so it is not a Denon issue!
Apologies if I am asking to many questions. And I appreciate any views. Thank you.
IMO you should take some time to read the manual of your MC3000 and Traktor.
After using it a while you might want to upgrade to T2 pro?
Then you really need to read the manual and also get a copy of the Traktor 2 bible to get the most out of your gear.If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to ask them here or in the Denondjforums.com
I will try to help you the best I can.Pär Hessler
ParticipantWell to answer your Q
Your computer is too old IMO and you should get a newer one with at least an Intel dual core processor!

ParticipantHi!
This is a hard one to help you with as there is so many things that this can depend on.
It could be that the club mixer and PA equalizer is set to that amount of bass (I think that is the case)
Or that they have different amps for tops and bass and that they are wrongly set up.You should lower the master volume in Traktor to 1/1 -> 3/4 and higher the volume on the S4 mixer
after setting the channel volume to about 0db. and then set the club mixer after that so that you get whatever volume you want. You should never run on red!!!!!!I hope that this is of help.
If not I do think you should adress this to the Native Instruments forum
because they have more knowlage about your specific gear.Pär Hessler
ParticipantI can think of two reasons, but that is my own theory!
1 They drop the price because Denon MC3000 is to simular in price and to get their chare of the cake.
2 NI soon anounces Traktor 2.5 and there might be a new S2 MkII or simular to get along with that software.
So they need to get rid of their stock and sell out all units.February 24, 2012 at 6:55 pm in reply to: anyone have done disco music mixes with digital equipment? #15624Pär Hessler
