It is highly not advisible to use studio monitors for any gigg at all period!

They are built for individual listening in near range with as flat sound as possible.

If you can not afford to buy then my advice is to rent. And in first hand powered speakers because they are easier to set up for you and they have amps that is tested for that speaker so often they sound better and there is less possibilities to blow the speakers. Amongst other things.

You can never get too much RAM
But you will be fine with 2Gb.
You will notice if/when you ever use more than 2Gb Ram
as the computer than uses HDD space as viritual RAM.

But Mac as I know it uses less RAM than a PC for OS and less other things that needs to run in background.

If you feel that something is wrong with your hardware you should not IMO hesitate to claim your warranty and turn it in to wherever you bought it!

Sorry to hear that about the Mac but you might come to your senses some day hopefully 😉
Nice to hear that your issues are taken care of 🙂

So it is the right channel even if you swap speaker AND cable?

And the balance knob on hardware and software is on 50%.

Then you might have a defect soundcard in your S2
IMO you should claim warranty if possible and turn it in to where you bought it!

You could then go for a pair of Denon SC2000’s that just works as MIDI controllers but you will have a simular workflow as in a club. If you need to be able to run CDs as well you have the Denon S12000 Pioneer CDH350/400
That is what I recommend in the first place but you could get a cheaper CDJ as well (but I would not recommend any because IMO they are crap) just if you are going to run from your laptop you eather need MIDI or Cd but with CD you need a DVS (Timecode system) Traktor scratch pro with ´NI Traktor hardware soundcard or SSL for example

    My needs are:

    1) cdjs that will do the job to give me the knowledge

    2) work on the same kind of prinicple as club equipment

I already have a pioneer djm 600 so all i need is cdjs and a software which i think is going to be traktor as i am familiar with it! appreciate your help and comments! thanks

    Then there is many options!
1 Keep the DJM600 and get a pair of CDJs (Denon S1200/S3700/SC3900 Pio CDJ350/400/850/900/1000/2000)
2 Get rid of the outdated DJM600 and get modern gear that can handle USBsticks and MIDI
    (Denon s1200/S3700/MC3900 + x120/X600/X1600/X1700 Pioneer CDJ400/CDJ850/900/2000 + DJM400/850/900/2000)

Ask yourself if you are going to use CD or USB and look at your wallet.
Is it possible to run USB sticks in the CDJs at the club or is it only CD (CDJ1000’s for example)
If you must run CDs in the club you do not need to be able to run USB sticks at home but if the club CDJs could run USB sticks that is a more modern way to keep your music librory in. So then you should IMO be able to play from USB sticks at your home equipment as well. That way you do not need to record CDs…..

Any macbook/macbook pro with Intel processor will do the job.
2Gb ram is OK but the more Ram the better and HDD should be large enough to
contain Mac os + your software (traktor?) and your music……

I run a Macbook Pro 2008 with Intel dualcore 3Gb ram and 500Gb HDD with no issues

The mixers that are certified by Traktor (DJM850 900 Denon X600 x1600 x1700 and so on)
will work the way that the soundcard in the mixer works directly with Traktor.
You connect the mixer to your computer and it sends the sound to the mixer
(the mixer also works as MIDI with Traktor so does the CDJs if they have MIDI)

But with the DJM600 wich has no soundcard nore MIDI you will have to buy a Native Instruments soundcard to get the sound to the mixer. Then you conect the NI Soundcard to the mixer and the laptop the same way SSL works.

For more info take a look at Native Instruments site:

I hope that you understand my explonation, otherwise ask again 🙂

Well they are proven to last very long so quality is very good.
    They also sound very good.
Some people think that they are too small over the ears but most DJs like them for the light weight and good sound.
Differences as you can see below is that HD 25-SP II does not have the same frequence responce making them sound less good. IMO there is a very big difference in sound and I do not recommend the cheaper alternative as they do not sound good to me.

    http://www.sennheisernordic.com/nordic/home_se.nsf/root/private_headphones_dj-headphones_502103

    Says:
The closed-back HD 25-1 IIs are purpose-designed, professional monitoring headphones offering high attenuation of background noise. Capable of handling very high sound pressure levels and of extremely robust construction, these headphones perform exceptionally well in high-noise environments, e.g. ENG, sound reinforcement, studio monitoring and audio equipment testing. The capsule is rotatable for one-ear listening. Ideal monitoring headphones for cameramen and DJs.
    Ear coupling supraaural
    Transducer principle dynamic, closed
    Nominal impedance 70 Ω
    Frequency response (headphones) 16 – 22000 Hz
Max. Sound pressure level (aktiv) 120 dB
    Load rating 200 mW
    THD, total harmonic distortion < 0,3 %
    Contact pressure ca. 2.5 N
    Jack plug 3,5/6,3 mm stereo
    Cable length 1,5 m
    Weight w/o cable ca. 140 g
The HD 25-SP II are closed dynamic headphones for monitoring, recording and outdoor applications. They are a lower-cost alternative to the HD 25 II, featuring a simpler headband and a slightly different capsule design.

    Ear coupling 60 Ohm
    Transducer principle dynamic, closed
    Nominal impedance 60 Ω
    Frequency response (headphones) 30 – 16000 Hz
Max. Sound pressure level (aktiv) 114 dB
    Load rating 200 mW stereo
THD, total harmonic distortion <0,4 % dynamic, closed
Contact pressure ca. 3 N supraaural
    Jack plug 3,5/6,3 mm stereo
    Cable length 3 m
    Weight w/o cable 115 g
