Also Hessler, as a Denon user , what are your thoughts on the new MC3000 ?
I will wait and see, I have also thought of getting 2 SC2000 instead….
I love my MC6000 and the MC3000 would proberbly be a 2channel Traktor unit with the same buildquality so
I think it will be a great unit. I hope it has a “real” mixer like the MC6000 so that you can hook up external units.
And it will hopefully have a lower pricetag than NI S2 and Pio “Toy” units 😉October 12, 2011 at 9:40 am in reply to: Your Ideal Controller – What features would it have ? #8372Pär Hessler
ParticipantMy ideal controller has a button for each function in T2 Scratch Pro
and 12″ motorized platters that has native support for T2SP.
Also no bigger than my MC6000 🙂
Not fysically possible and NI will never have support for moving joggs
So the next best thing is
A: 2x S3700 (motorized 9″ platters with hybrid MIDI) + 1700 mixer = – Big
B: MC6000 = – Not motorized platters. Also I would like a software that has all functions that is in T2SP + Abletons gridding system so that all tracks automaiticly gets constant BPM. And a gridsystem that is not 99,9% wrong like it is now. And also included MIK, Platinum notes and a good taggprogram so that you would not have to buy and run 5 different programs like now.
And eros, Thank you for the greatest laugh this year!:D

ParticipantMy oppininon on the subject:
All music that hasn’t a constant tempo is hard to beatmatch.
(If you don’t run them trough Ableton live so that it goes constant)
Also Hip-Hop can be difficult because they rap all the time so there is no instrumental parts on some tunes.
And garage can be a bit tricky if you are a beginner because the tempo is not like EDM.The most simple music to beatmatch is EDM but if you shall do it propper and use filters EQ and effects all over the mix
it can be a bit tricky as well and to keep it in sync (without cheating with autosync) by hand in 2-3 minutes can be hard.//DJ Hessler

ParticipantIf you want single deck joggwheel controller from Pio you have CDJ350/400/900/2000 to chose from.
Denon has SC2000/S1200/S3700…..I would say No to your Q about clubstandard for controllers.
Pioneer would IMO not be the one doing it because they are too far behind
IMO Denon, Numark, NI and A&H are much further on the controller market than Pio
This is how I see it at the moment, but they can stll catch up….
All others are IMO not pro gear that has in a club to do at all.Denon has not laid many bucks on PR so they could not be the one setting the standard
Numark goes towards ITCH too much and in EU NI Traktor is leading.
NI has not good enough quality they are not up to Denon, Pio and Numark.
A&H has not good enough joggs and layout.
And Pio as I said are behind and furthermore not as good quality on their controllers as on their other gear IMO.
Don’t get me wrong, Pio has good quality controllers but not the best and they should be for that money.//DJ Hessler

ParticipantHave you seen the Denon SC 2000?

I would think it meets your spec rather good…..

It depends on the gear and the soundquality of the musicfile.
On my Denon S3700 with a AIFF/WAW file I can pitch a lot more than 6% before it sounds bad.
That goes for 320 MP3s as well…. In about 90%-95% pitch it start sounding really bad.Pär Hessler
ParticipantIt might be worth the effort to try raising the Latency or
Read the chapter about troubleshooting for latency issues in the manual.
It might help until NI fixes the failure…..Pär Hessler
ParticipantThe NI A2DJ would do the job but not with the same good soundquality.
I don’t know about the Numark, There is not enough info on their site…..
I suggest you contact a dealer and ask them…..

ParticipantNo you woul need another soundcard or even better IMO get the Mixtrak Pro with built in soundcard.

ParticipantSince CDJ1000 has no MIDI you will need some cind of timecode system in order to use them.
Traktor scratch Duo or Traktor Scratch Pro or Serato Scratch Live
and use the Timecode CDs in the CDJ1000’s
The DJM800 has Midi so you will not really need an external soundcard.
Therfore Traktor without soundcard should bee a lot sheaper than SSL.//DJ Hessler

ParticipantI would recommend active speakers ( I ´have QSC k12 + QSC Ksub) because they are more portable and takes less space.
If you have a built in soundcard you should look for a controller with RCA outputs to get the best sound IMO.
You then put RCA cables between your soundcard to the active speakers….//DJ Hessler

ParticipantAnd I do not agree with Phil on this one.
Of cause you can nudge on the jogwheels but
for fine nudging the pitchbend is superior and much more exact!//DJ Hessler
