The Mixtrack Pro is a good controller for a beginner that you also can use as a semi pro DJ IMO
So you do not need to buy a better controller in 6 month as you would in the other package IMO.
The headphones is on the otherhand nothing I would recommend, but I guess they are better than nothing…..//DJ Hessler

ParticipantIf I were you I would use the keyboard on the computer until I could buy at least an
Numark Mixtrack Pro. That is the only low budget controller I could recommend
and still be able to sleep at night.
The others all have issues from what I’ve heard from a big dealer and are to me low quality toys.Pär Hessler
ParticipantCome to think of it, a tip for those who has joggs on their controller but does not use them::(
Why not mapping them to something else! 🙂
My MC6000 is by default mapped to scroll playlist/songlist when pushing shift.
It is a very fast and exact way to scroll IMO. Other controllers might not be mapped that way?.
Also you can map joggs to Wet/Dry on efects section or to wider narrower loops or something else that you use often……
Use your imagination/fantasy and be creative you are DJs and that is not something for the non creative IMO:D//DJ Hessler

ParticipantI would start by saying: Drop the Pios. HDJ1000 has good sound and so on but they have really bad quality!
Pio is known for top quality on their gear and IMO it is true in most cases but ther HP are really bad.
I know 4-5 people who has had HP1000 and they all broke after less than 6month…..
The HP2000 seems to be bad too, I have a friend who has had his broken for 2 times now.I recommend the Denon HP-1000 I have a pair that has now been holding for 4-5 years.
The sound is very good as the design and all else.
Also all of the Shure headphones seems very good I have tested them and do think
that you get very good gear for the money.
The Technics are to me too heavy so if I DJ with them for a couple of hours I would get a pain in my neck!
Also to me they do not sounfd good.
A&H Xzone, same as the technics.
Stanton I have not tested so I have nothing to say there…..If you are going to buy a pair and you do not like the Senhiser (wich is one of the absolute best IMO)
You really must test them out yourself IMO!!!!November 21, 2011 at 6:10 am in reply to: Is scratching on midi controllers "acceptable" for DJing? #10155Pär Hessler
ParticipantDR PANCAKES, post: 10145 wrote: I have the stanton scs.3 system and sometimes for a transition and endings I scratch (still learning not good) on a gig because I think its cool but, im starting to think that other DJs or people do not like a scratch while they’re dancing or just talking, so my question: is it ok to scratch on controllers even though it isn’t vinyl and on a place where im supposed to mix the usual commercial house (which I hate btw) or I should avoid it at all costs?
thanks in advance, i like this forum a lot.
I do think it is OK to scratch at any place in any time!
If you do it good and it does not take over too much.
I do a little scratch as effect or instead of mixing I sometimes scratch in
the next tune. I did it this saturday on a wedding for example……Pär Hessler
ParticipantIntroducing the MC3000
The MC3000 DJ controller from Denon DJ is an affordable professional MIDI controller for Native Instruments® TRAKTOR™ 2 Technology Inside products, complete with TRAKTOR™ LE 2 included, and fully optimised for Virtual DJ.4 Deck control and a high quality internal soundcard, in-fact the same soundcard found in the highly popular DN-MC6000, that proves there are no sacrifices in quality and reliability with the MC3000 and a clear reference to the standard that Denon DJ has already set for Professional DJ Controllers.
The quality of the high resolution, 105mm touch-sensitive jog wheels and the smooth 100mm long pitch slider (with 14 bit resolution) is evidence that the Denon DJ build quality and reliability is still present even at this more affordable price point.MC3000 Features
Line to master gives the option of 2 analogue line input mixing control so a variety of external players can be connected and used alongside a Mac® or Windows PC – great for handing over to the next DJ after a set without interrupting the flow of music.
The Layer Function for Dual Deck and 2+2( 4-channel) mixer control retains functionality whilst maintaining an un-cluttered and ergonomic layout so that both the Bedroom DJ and those wanting to move onto a more professional setup still get maximum functionality with minimal hassle.
MC3000 layout has been optimised for use of the new sample deck and loop recorder function in TRAKTOR™ 2 making it is easy to hit SAMPLE and switch the EFX panel to a dedicated sample section with independent volume, and filter, controls for each sample – creating unique mixes don’t get much easier than this!
Complete with file browse navigation keys and rotary encoder file selector knob, 8 (4+4) hot cue buttons with layer bank selector key keeps the MC3000 as a fully operational controller for the latest software’s and means you never have to touch your laptop mid-set again.
The powerful shift key for various dual button operation, large size Cue and Play buttons, and the inclusion of Denon “Legacy” Pitch bend keys gives truly professional features at your fingertips, minus the hassle.
Denon DJ’s MC3000 is taking the next step into DJ controllers with build quality that has come to be expected from a Denon DJ product and has earned its place alongside truly Professional DJ controllers such as the DN-MC6000. Whilst managing to remove the lengthy process involved with learning features and button combinations – the MC3000 brings simplicity and functionality together to create the very best DJ showcase from Bedroom to Dance floor.

ParticipantAs Phil said No you do not need a midi mixer.
Connect both your S1200’s to computer via USB and both S1200s to you mixer as if you scould play CD’s
This way you can use you S1200’s via MIDI, USB or CD 🙂
Here is a lot of info and also TSI (mappings) for your S1200’s:
http://www.denondjforums.com/forum/index.php?f=41&rb_v=viewforum
Be sure to have the latest software upgrade installed to your S1200’s

ParticipantDeejBlackBoy, post: 10026 wrote: what about comfortable controller, for scratching, tricks, effect, record live mix and many more? because for some reason i use to hear pioneer was one of the best cd player and thats the reason i was looking at the pioneer DDJ-S1 controller..
I am sorry to say that Pioneer has not the same quality on their controllers as on their CDJs.
If you are used to Denon and Numark I would suggest 2 controllers that are really good IMO the two best.
Denon DN MC6000 and Numark NS6.
The MC6000 is a lot smaller so you can easy take it with you
it has a lot of extras that no other controller on the market has
and the famous Denon quality. You can use it with any software that can be bought.
The joggwheels may apper small but they are really good for nudging and scratching
(Not for competing in DMC but normal scratching works fine and accurate)
MC6000 comes with Traktor LE in EU and VDJ LE in US. so you might need to
upgrade or buy some software. It is rock solid IMO (I have one of those)The NS6 is bigger so it can not be taken in a backpack
it has bigger joggs and Numark has really rased the quality on this.
It comes with ITCH so you do not need to buy/upgrade any software.
It can be used with other sw but the layout is IMO not good for other SW
and then you pay for ITCH and do not use it (waist of money IMO).I do think these two will meet your specs nicely
As for price the MC6000 is a bit cheaper but you will need to buy or upgrade software
After upgrading mine to NI Traktor 2 pro ther was still money left so the MC6000 is a bit cheaper anyway.I suggest you try them in a store before purchase…..

ParticipantI think you might having trouble with the TSI file.
If you can DL the original TSI or if you have it somewhere try to delite the one in Traktor and replace it with the original….
It might be worth trying…..Pär Hessler
ParticipantKj wills, post: 10005 wrote: Unless better quality, it needs to retail at around £450 to compete with the s2. The price will be a factor on me ordering this or the twitch.
MC3000 has the same quality as the DN MC6000 on hardware.
The S4/S2 has not as good quality buttons and knobs IMOPär Hessler
ParticipantMac or PC?
Pär Hessler
ParticipantI would recommend you to buy a copy of the Traktor 2 Bible
There would be the answer to your Q
IMO all that uses Traktor would benefit from buying this book.Pär Hessler
ParticipantI think you might be able to DJ (or PB PushButton the new kind of DJ ;-)) without joggwheels.
But it gets much harder and there is things that would take more time
and some things that might be impossible to do.
That is not DJ’ing for me.
I would possible stop DJ’ing if there were no joggwhells on my equipment,
mainly because I would be boored to death not being able to scratch!
First thing if you use NI Traktor the beatgrid is wrong in almost all tracks.
When correcting them it is much faster if you have joggwheels.
Then when finding cuepoints to set it is also much faster with joggs. -
