ParticipantLot of things to do and think off that takes a lot of time that you could save if you bought a used Mac for the same amount of money spent on that PC:p

I’m not knocking keylock, it comes in handy (provided it doesn’t distort the music (as cheap CDJs do)) but scratching with it on just sounds… wrong.
That must be a problem on some controllers/brands.
No problem with keylock on on my S3700/MC6000…..Pär Hessler
ParticipantYes.
You need to check your output routing in Traktor and Mac.
You need to check your Traaktor manual foud in Traktors help menue…..Pär Hessler
ParticipantIf you want something that last you really should take a look at Denon MC6000/MC3000
They are built to last more than any other controller I have seen/tested and that is raher many.
Only other controller that is almost as good in build quality would be NS6 but that is an ITCH controller….
The S2/S4 and VCI 400 has good quality as well but not as good as MC6000/MC3000
There are good mappings for the Denon controllers. But I would lie if I told you they were as intergrated
to traktor as the S2/S4 not one single controller on the market is that.
If you want that little extra you should learn how to map however and to buy a copy of the
Traktor Bible will do the trick I am pretty sure.
Other thing is that S2/S4 is not as tank built as the MC3000/6000 neather as the VCI400Pär Hessler
ParticipantI would say:
Skip the effects if you are a beginner!
Try to learn your music and try to learn how to beatmatch first.
After that learn different technics to blend the music.
And after that you can try to learn to mix by key. After e few years if you manage to learn all of the above you can add effects.
But effects should be kept to a minimum otherwise it will do more harm than adding something for the ordience.I started DJing approx 1980 and if I play music for 4 hours I add effects 4-5 times in a total of 1-2minutes!
This is my personal point of view and all might not aprove so take it as it is….Pär Hessler
ParticipantJust bare in mind that X1 does not have any soundcard!
Allen&Heath Xone:K2 is a simular product with built in soundcrd if you need that…..Pär Hessler
ParticipantIt is not easy to answer your question without knowing wich speakers you are talking about?
The usual way to connect is to connect from mixer to sub and from sub to top speakers.
Also in different speakers sometimes there is a switc on the sub and sometimes there are
4 out wich has connection to a sub filter for the top speakers and sometimes that is on the top speakers.
Sometimes there are no filter and in that case I strongly recommend you to buy an active filter
so that you can cut off the lower bass on the top speakers…..Hands on you will hear if it sounds good or not……

ParticipantPotential Options – Works Best w/ (which software)(LE/Full version, etc.)
MixTrack PRO – The best low budget alternative (Traktor Duo/Pro)
Vestax Typhoon –
Hercules RMX –
Hercules Steel –
TRAKTOR KONTROL S2 – Traktor Pro 2
(New but curious) DDJ-ERGO-V – (Pio Traktor version LE+)First off I would drop All of the above except Mixtrak Pro and S2 especialy Ergo as it does not match the pricetag IMO
Pio does make good quality CDJ and DJM but not controllers IMO they does not have the same quality.
I would also like to add one. Denon MC3000 – (Traktor LE in EU VDJ LE in US) I would recommend to upgrade to Traktor Pro on that unit. Denon MC3000 has IMO a higher quality than the rest in build and Buttons/knobs.
You can also run it on any software that can be bought The S2 is more locked to Traktor. So my recommendations for you to take a closer look at is:
Numark Mixtrak Pro
Native Instrument S2
Denon MC3000Pär Hessler
ParticipantIf you are looking at S4/S2 you should really also take a close look at Denon MC3000 / MC6000
as they IMO has higher quality in build and buttons/knobs.Pioneer makes good CDJ/mixers but unfortionatly IMO they shold have sticked to that as their
controllers does not match the prisetag at all and it is not top quality as Denon MC6000 MC3000 and Numark NS6Numark NS6 runs on Itch that is why I do not recommend it to you as you want Traktor.
NS6 can be run on Traktor but the layout is not so good for that and then you pay for Itch and does not use it
IMO a waist of money.Therfore My tip is take a look at S2/S4 and Denon MC3000/MC6000
My choice was the MC6000 but then MC3000 was not on the market…..
Some people said it was cramped and I did think it was when I looked at it
But after using it for about 10min I changed my mind and found that it was not an issue
because of the very good layout of the unit!Pär Hessler

ParticipantI have my last name with DJ in front of it.
As it is an unusual name here in sweden I think it is OK.Never had regrets or wishes that I have chosen different….

ParticipantIMO if you are a house DJ you should stick to that and not take on this party.
There are party DJs who should do this IMO
You need to play music from the 60s 70s 80s 90s 00s and some new.
If you do not know it well….. It takes time to handle mixing those tracks…..Try mixing Abba – dancing quen with Bee Gees stayin alive (origan tracks not modified)
Then you know what I mean. If you can beatmatch the two tracks by ear then you are good to go IMO.Pär Hessler
ParticipantMy I just add that on the second video is UK DMC Champion JFB.
If you Hee Won Jung think he is not a real scratcher I would like too se a vid of you doing it better??

ParticipantThe fact is that Pioneer has low quality on their headphons.
Hugh names using Pioneer headphones does not make the headphones better quality as those guys get paid for using them!
And HDJ1000 has as I know never been considered one of the best headphones on the market!Just a bunch of things taken from the air by you!
