NS7 /V7 has no support for spinning platter in Traktor.
Other than that it is a7″ platter wich is a little bit small for scratching.
All in all both V7 and NS7 has good quality and are both very good controllers if you do not want Traktor IMO.Pär Hessler
ParticipantBest controller for scratching is of cause a pair of TTs with timecode.
Second best is Denon S3700/X1700 (Spinning 9″ platter)
Third best Pioneer CDJ2000/DJM200 (Not spinning)
Then it is Numark NS6 but it is an ITCH controller (Not spinning and smaller)
After that it is hard to say but Denon has the second best resulotion after NS6 on their joggwheels and they are touch sensitive and you can set the sensetivity in a software that is inside the MC6000 why that is my choice, but there are controllers that has less resulotion and no touch sensetivity but a bit bigger joggs. Therfore it is hard to say wich is best for you. For me the Denon MC6000 joggs are better than for example NI S4 but it is not sertain you feel the same.
You have to try that out for yourself wich is the less bad choice, because nothing beats a spinning platter TT that is 12″
if you scall scratch…..Pär Hessler
ParticipantI would suggest Genelec as they are outstanding and I have not heard anything that sounds better.
But when I see your pricerange it would be hard to match that.So I intead say take a close look at the Fostex PM05 or PM1 or KRK
That is IMO very good sound for money.I have Genelec in my homestudio and Fostex PM05 in our livingroom for radio/music at home….
KRK I have listned to and I am impressed by the sound in them as well….There is no way I can recommend you to buy a pair without listening yourself,
buy the ones that feels best for your ears and budget 🙂//DJ Hessler

ParticipantThe Pio HP are not that good from what I have heard.
The sound is OK but they break easy, I have a friend who has broke 2 pairs of HP2000
and another that have broke many HP1000s.
I sugest you take a look at the headphones from Senhiser, Shure or Denon.
All three brands has high quality headphones that does not break after a month or two.Go to a store and try out what feels the best for your head and ears.
Good hunting

ParticipantYou could also look at the alternative:
1 Denon X1600 or X1700 (Traktor certified Mixer with high quality soundcard)
4 Denon SC2000.
That way you will be well coverd and have high quality all the way….Pär Hessler
ParticipantNo2 woud be the better choice IMO.

ParticipantThe best tip IMO is to get a pair of high quality headphones.
My strong believe is that bad headphones has caused two of my friends that are DJ Tinnitus!
One of the DJed one night with his Sony HP speaker broken and after that night he had tinnitus.For me it is acouple of things I do.
1 Only use high quality sound products all the line but specially headphones.
2 Always stay behind the PA speaker (if possible)
3 Use the headphone as a soundbarrier to rest ears from time to time.
This means having the headphones on your ears with no sound on to damp the sound from the PA.
It might sound odd to do this but it actualy works for me…..
4 Keep the volume in PA and headphones on a level that is no too loud.
If you have trouble hearing your HP try to push them closer to the ear by your shoulder
that way you close more sound out and get more bass in your HP.Of cause the best is to get in ear dampers that is made exclusive for your ears.
But they are very expencive, on the other hand you can not put a pricetag on your hearing
especially if you are a DJ!This is a swedish company making personal earplugs

ParticipantMy sugestion is to stick to your TTs and Mixer and use it with DVS.
There are a few to chose from. Traktor scratch duo/pro. Serato Scratch Live are the most common.
If you go for Traktor you will have to buy a kit with soundcard or you will have to get a Traktor certified mixer like for example Denon X600….Pär Hessler
ParticipantThere are some mappings on the Traktor Bible site:

ParticipantIf you miss the jogg on X1 and has a mixer and want a solid metal pice of gear top quality?
Check out the Denon SC2000

ParticipantIt is in the mixer section, you need to enable mixer on screen
Open the manual in Traktor find in heplp menue and serch for cue or mixer…..Pär Hessler
ParticipantI leave my equipment as it is and find it childish and ugly to pimp the equipment.
Sorry but that is my true point of view in this matter.Also I buy new stuff regulary as it comes and to sell equipment that I have painted my DJ name would not bring me as much money on the second market as if it is in the same condition it was when I bought it.
Instead I concentrate on whats important IMO, the music and soundquality.

ParticipantQuoate”I received feed-back saying that the Denon mc3000 was nothing more 2 sc2000’s.”
Now that is simply not true!
MC3000 is a very good controller and IMO a better one than S2.
S2 has not got the same quality in build, chassies, and hardware (knobs buttons jogwheels)Pär Hessler
ParticipantHave you read and done what it says on Numarks site?
http://www.numark.com/mixtrackpro?tt=5Pär Hessler
ParticipantThe best controller for me would be Denon 2xS3700 and a X1700 mixer.
Second best Pioneer 2x CDJ2000 1x DJM2000
Third best Denon MC6000
4 = Denon MC300
5 = Numark NS6
6 = NI S4
7 = NI S2
8 = Numark Mixtrack Pro & Pio controllers except Ergo
9 = the rest -
