Try swapping the speakers from left to right then you will know if there is an issue with one of the speakers
wich I think it is. If it is not let us know…..

About the mixers, You are looking on outdated mixers IMO the DJM700/800 is IMO old!
They do not have the sound you should be getting for that amount of money today!
When they were new they were among the best in sound but not today, sorry!
I say this just because I do think it is a waist of money now that you can get better sound for less if you can bare not having a Pio loggo on your gear.
Look at Pioneer DJM900 or 2000. They are the only ones who can messure with the others that I suggerst you take a close look at: The Denon X1600 or x1700 as they have a 32 bit DAC (so has DJM900 and DJM2000)
    http://www.dm-pro.eu/en/denondj/products/31/dn-x1700-professional-digital-dj-mixer/
    http://www.dm-pro.eu/en/denondj/products/40/dn-x1600-professional-4ch-digital-dj-mixer/
Both X1600 and X1700 are Traktor certified wich means that you can use their built in soundcard as soundcard for Traktor. That you can also do with DJM900 and DJM2000 but not DJM800/700
But there is a big difference in the price of Pio DJM900/2000 and Denon X1700/X1600…….

The A&H Xzone 42 is not Traktor certified as I can see, the USB port is to connect to PC in order to be able to record from the mixer not to get signat from PC to mixer?? I could not find any info but you shold check it up and it proberbly does not have a DAC at all??

Other than that A&H makes very good mixers so you should compare the sound on A&H Denon and Pioneer to find
that the 700/800 does not sound that good compared to todays mixers, Denon and Pios latest mixers sound about equal
(if not the Denon should sound better) A&H I don’t know but I think you will find it better than DJM800/700 and not as good as DJM900/2000 X1700/X2000.

This is based on reading specs and knowing how the mixers are build (all three brands has the best buld quality but Denon uses the best hardware as well) I have tested and listned carefully to other A&H mixers but not the Xzone 42.
    I have listned and compared the DJM800, DJM700, DJM2000, DJM900,X1700 and X1600
I own a X1700 and was one of the first to buy it in my country It has never let me down in any way and I can not find any mixer that has a better sondquality. I have Genelec studio monitors at home so I would hear if there is a difference in sound. I also has a Denon MC6000 wich has among the absolute best soundcards in a controller and it sounds very good but I can hear a difference in favor to my X1700……

Also take a look at Genelec before purchase studio monitors.
KRK are good but my ears tell me that Genelec is a bit better (and unfortunatly a bit more expencive)

Now you should listen for yourself and look at your wallet and if you come to the conclution you still want the DJM800/700 I suggest you take a look in the second hand market as many still buy DJM900/2000 and try to get rid of their DJM800/700s

I wish you good hunting 🙂

My greatest issue with T2 is the freaking beatgrid.
It is wrong in 99% of all songs and in all songs that has not constant BPM or a change in tempo
it is not posiible to beatgrid at all.
That makes it very time consuming as you have to buy a copy of Ableton Live to get all tunes in constant BPM.
I suppose that it was the same with T1 (I never used it)
But there must be a way to improve the analysis of the beatgrid……..

Otherwise I second Papa Bears statement above.

    Here is Manual for Traktor
    http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/dj/traktor-pro-2/?page=1975
It is also found in your Traktor prog under Help

As for the S2 I could not find it on NI’s site but your S2 should be shipped with some kind of DVD or CD containing the
ASIO drivers and Manual for your S2 Controller??

As for the FX problem I am sorry but I can not help you as I hasn’t tested the S2 myself.
It might be a good idea to ask on Native Instruments Site?

You will need some cind of computer and software.
I would suggest a iMac or Mac pro and 2 large screens
But you can manage with a Macbook pro 15″……
Then you nead Software I suggest Reason and Ableton Live
    And a MIDI keyboard

But to start with you can use a PC some more simple cheaper program like fruity loops and your computer keyboard.

The possible cause is that your tracks is not propperly beatgridded.
Please read the Traktor manual about the beatgid.(or even better buy a copy of the Traktor Bible that explains this very well with examples)
I found that 99% of my analysed tracks in Traktor is wrongly beatgridded and this is IMO the greatest issue with Traktor
that the beatgrid is almost always wrong. Also bear in mind that only tracks with a constant BPM can be beatgridded 100% correct.
The only way to get all tracks right is to run them trough Ableton Live in order to get a constant BPM and then run them in Traktor. I have now worked all my free time for about 7 month and about 1000 of my 2000 tracks that could not be beatgridded is finished…..

I find it a little difficult to read what you mean but.

    You should connect
1 from your controller to the crossover
    2 from crossover to top
    3 from crossover to sub.

IMO drop the Pios and add Denon MC6000/MC3000

Why? Drop the Pio because the three Pio controllers does not have the regular top quality from Pioneer just the regular pricetag so you will get mid quality gear for the price of top gear. Don’t get me wrong Pio does good gear but it does not match the price!

Why add Denon MC6000/MC3000. Because it has better quality than S2/S4 IMO in terms of better joggs better knobs better faders better soundcard better chassies and you can use it together with any software that money can buy.

The s2/S4 can be used with any SW but it has a layout that is not so good with any other SW than Traktor IMO.

If you could considder ITCH also add Numark NS6 wich IMO is the only controller that is as good as the MC6000/3000.
But it is not good for traktor for the same reason as the S2/S4 it is best´for ITCH.

    1) starting up traktor 2 I get “Could not initialize traktor probably other instance running” Trakor starts up after a few clicks but this is still annoying..

It indicates that you have something running on your computer (PC?)
If you run A PC you must turn everything that is not needed to run Traktor off!
Also you need to be sure to run ASIO driver for S2.

    Cross fader
    2) when I play a song on deck A.. the sound comes out normally, like you would expect but when I move the fader toward decks B (right) there is no sign of as fading.. the sound is just as loud when the cross fader is on deck A to when it is on deck B.
The same goes for deck B, exactly the same problem just the other way round.
So I think there must be a problem with the cross-fader..
If there is no knob on the S2 for x-fader curve (wich I do not think there is)
In Traktor settings/Mixer there is a setting for crossfader curve smooth/sharp
    Set it to smooth!

    Fx
when I play a song in deck B..I went to hit one of the fx.. I noticed that the wet/dry was lighting up fine.. along with fx 2 and 3.. but when I hit fx number 1 there is no light..

When I play a song in deck A.. when I hit the fx number 1 it lights up.. aswell as 2 and 3.. but the wet/dry button does not light up..

When not lighting up, try setting the knob Wet/Dry to zero and then up against 100%
It is also a setting in Traktor
You need to carefully read the Traktor and S2 Manual!!

    Cue

So when a track is playing on deck A.. I want to cue a track for deck B..All I hear in my headphones is the song on deck A ( I haven’t even hit a cue button.. all cue buttons are off) yet I still hear deck A.. I can barely hear the song I want to cue ( deck B)

all of these problems are very annoying I have been watching videos on this controller for ages.. just wishing that I could own it.. I know have it and its just a pain in the ass.. 🙁
On the right hand of the plug for the headphone there is two knobs.
One is for HP volume and the second is for cue/mix.
You need to turn that knob to zero = 100% cue!
    Again READ THE MANUALS!

Should I send it back to the shop or am I doing something wrong? please help
If you can not read the manual, it seems like this unit is too much for you as you have soo many issues that all has been solved if you only had read the manual! You also can gain more of your equipment if you get a copy of the Traktor bible!
I am convinced that there is nothing wrong with your S2 at all, if there is a real issue it would be your PC
but it is not likely that there is something wrong with that eather. Just a case of you beeing to eager to start playing before reading the manuals and making the right settings that suets your needs!

I hope that my suggestions is of help.

    Well.

About anything from the Swedish dance chart that has about the same BPM (shown in list)
would be a good starter IMO

    http://www.deejaypromo.com/charts.asp

And if you “love all aspects of DJing” I am sure you will soon get the hang of it.

If you have q’s, this forum is a good place to ask them so keep on asking if anything is not claer 🙂

Yes try to reinstall the ASIO.

If that does not help it must be that there is something wrong in the settings
in the routings of T2LE or some hardware error cables etc.

Start by reinstalling ASIO and check settings in T2LE
And let me know how it works 🙂

BTW those two tracks is really not the easiest to start with IMO
Try some mainstream dance house music with lyrics on to start with….

My example goes for any music that is in 4/4 beat.
You should not count the bass just the beat that goes 1234 in all music.
Often bassdrum and snaredrum but not always and in that cases you will have to
imagine a bassdrum on the count of 1 and 3 and a snaredrum on 2 and 4….

You might find it a bit easier to start with House/Trance than D&B/Dubstep though!
