I agree with VinnyBlanc on this.
Get a Vestax Mixtrack or even better Mixtrack pro and save up to a better controller.

My vote goes to the A&H K2:

It seems to be a smooth thing and A&H uses to have top quality on their gear 🙂

    Yes I am “sound obsessive!”

    A story:
I am working for a DJ firm that gives me mobile giggs and they have the JBL EON speakers.
As I found them to sound like crap I had to do something…
So I went to buy a pair of QSC K12 and a QSC K Sub just because I couldn’t bare the crappy sound.
(The ordience seldom complained but I had to bring a 2x64band EQ to get it to sound a bit better)
The firm does not pay me a penny more because i use my own speakers instead of their but I find it much more fun to play on the QSC than on their crappy JBL EON.

At home I have Genelec studio monitors and sub. and I use Klotz cables everywhere.
There is better things but not much and I am very happy with how it souns for now.

Also I never touch an 192Kbp MP3 because it sounds very thin and flat in my ears, so I do dissagree with Phil and others on that. I hear a difference and if I do some in my ordience might do as well. I also master all my MP3s with Platinum Notes and Mixed In Key. Sometimes even with Cubase if it does not sound right to me.

I am a drummer, started when I was 10 yers old and was playing for about 25 years, then I stoped and started again
3 years ago. I played in hard rock cover bands with double bass drums and now I have a break (between bands) again.
I also play a bit of guitarr and Pioano / USB keyboard.
I think i gain a lot from my drumming when it comes to my DJing as it is easier to understand the build up of music and where to put the next song and how to count beats in your head at the sime time as you speak to someone making a request and so on…..

Take a look at S2/S4 and Denon MC6000/30000 those are IMO 4 very good controllers
I prefer the Denons as they IMO has better quality for the same money in my country.
    Try b4 buy!!

IMO you will need to carefully read the user manual of the MC3000 and the software you are going to use with it.
Then there is a lot of tips on this site too look at.

    MC3000 quick start guide:
    http://www.dm-pro.eu/attachments/products/85/mc3000emquick-setup-guideimv00.pdf

    Traktor2/VDJ mapping guide:
    http://www.dm-pro.eu/attachments/products/85/mc3000emmapping-guideimv00.pdf

    MC3000 user manual:
    http://www.dm-pro.eu/attachments/products/85/mc3000emengimv00.pdf

Also do a google search for your SW and find the user manual for that one.

No this brand is not a good brand of headphones
but compared to others in the pricerange I do not think they are worse than others.

Senhiser, Shure, Denon and Koss are a few that is good but the price is of cause in an other legue as well…

You need to use the output from the mixer and see to it that the master volume is up enough high.
If you get bad sound it is proberbly because the gain and upfsders it too high so you get distortion.
You should be able to get very good sound out of your MC6000 as it has a very good soundcard.

Please explain exactly how you do and to what the sound out goes to…..

    thanks for the response though.

If you want it to be easy you need to think again IMO.

With PC you need to turn of a lot of things and install ASIO drivers that might be in conflict with other ASIO drivers
turn of virus progs and auto updates and so on and so on…
In Mac you do nothing of that.
You install your SW and chose that soundcard and of you go.
Now you have already saved up to a week of work.
With Mac you do not need to be a computer wizard to get it to work.
Also if you have bad luck and drop your computer in the ground if it is a PC the ugly plastic will brake and if it is a Mac in worst case you will get a scratch in the beautiful aluminium chassies.
That is a lot of Macs potential and you will use it if you are to install and use the computer as a DJ.

If you look at the second hand market and be sure it is a Mac with INTEL processor then you will be fine and it will not cost you more than a PC.

Soory, but IMO there is no way of helping you as long as you do not get your senses together and drop tha Bu/&sht about 1,5TB legit music.

The Denon MC6000 is supported by Traktor AND Viritual DJ.
But you can pretty much use it with any SW that money can buy.
That is the way Denon do things, you are not locked to one way of doing things….

Traktor is the most common SW and VDJ is the second most common as I know it.
But there is others as well…….

My choice was Traktor most because it is more or less standard in EU…
It is complicated but it has not got to be if you sattle with the standard mappings that comes with the MC6000.
My recommendation is the Traktor 2 Pro, because I do think that you get the most out of the unit with that SW.
Also if you do you really benefit from buying a copy of the Traktor Bible IMO
Then you can get the most out of the sw as well as the hardware……..

In my country the S2 is more expencive than the MC3000 or about the same price.
That is why I suggested that. But if there is a big difference in price I would go for the S2.
Or an Mixtrack Pro for starters…..

You need two XLR -> RCA cables one for right channel and one for left. (red white)
