As you has gone the Native Instruments road I think the F1 or Machine would be good.
But for music production maybe a midi keyboard wold be even better??

NI X1 or simular would do the trick I think….

I tested it and I am NOT impressed!
Pio uses to do top quality gear with CDJ1000/2000 DJM800/2000/900
but lately they have dropped the quality especially on their controllers IMO
But the price has not followed the lower quality as I see it.

Therefore I suggest you take a look at the Native Instruments S4/S2 and the IMO best controller
    Denon MC6000/3000 instead.

The only pro that DDJ-T1 has IMO is that if you are used to Pio CDJ400/DJM400 you feel at home.
But it feels plastic and cheap as a toy in comparsion to a Denon MC6000 IMO!

Well IMO this video does not show the whole truth.

If you run T2 and the beatgrid and settings is 100% right
the syncbutton WILL do all the mixing 100% right and tight!

I started last year in March and I have now run 1200songs in Ableton.
800 songs still left. But in meanwhile I use my MC6000 the same way I use CD
with just one cuepoint in the beginning of the track and no snap no autosync.

I also use the same music librory on 2 USB sticks on my S3700/X1700 set
so when I am ready in Ableton it will be easier to beatmatch all songs 🙂

It is very timeconsuming because Ableton sometimes does not get the grid right
but the difference is that you then can do it manualy beat by beat.
So some tunes take 1 min some take 15 mins…..

That also works on other like 2/3 (140/3*2 = 93,3 to 140) but it is to be used very delicate……
I have managed doing that for several times and people on the floor looks very funny when they find out that they are dancing in the wrong tempo :-)))) But in these cases you really need to trust your ears and concentrate.

Damn I really thought the community here was well informed but it appears that I’ve gotten more information from my personal online research. Do you guys think that the Stanton SC System 3 at 179.99 + 10 shipping is a good deal. what do you guys know about this controller?

Personly I like that system because it is a bit different then others.
It has its cons and pros. Cons is that it has no knobs wich makes it rather different to work with.
Pros is that it does not take much space……

I suggest you go to a local dealer and try it out.

Wouldn’t you agree that the reloop digital jockey 2 interface edition and the American Audio vms2 are better?

Well you get what you pay for and I can agree on the looks but the construction on the Mixtrak pro is above others in that pricerange. Reloop and American Audio is among the brands that I personly would not touch even with gloves on, but that is my own point of view! So NO! I do not agree and think that the Numark Mixtrack pro is the only low budget controller on the market worth spending any money on at all. The others are in my opinnion as Steve Jobbs would have put it crap!

Others may think different but if you ask my oppinion that is it.

If you have trouble with your SW it is in most cases because your computer has an “issue”
More often if it is a PC. It might be a slow processor, Vista has many issues, some other SW that runs in background like virus prog or auto update, lack of RAM and so on.

So tell us what computer, OS, Processor, Ram and so on and you might get some help.

A good choice as the Vista would be why your system is not so stabile I think.
I do not think that you gain any more stability by changing from LE to T2 Duo.
And I sugest that you wait and then get the T2 Pro instead because IMO it is more worth the money to get full efx and all the goodies that is in the pro version and you will get full value out of your Denon gear when you are ready for it.

As you said the MC3000 because it works very well with both VDJ and Traktor and is built like a tank ;-).
The NIS2 is not a good choice if you are to use it with anything other than Traktor!
Numark NS6 is an ITCH controller so it is not good with VDJ and not with Traktor eather
otherwise it is a veruy good controller (but more expencive than MC3000/S2)

The most popular and most recomended budget controller is the Numark Mixtrak Pro.
I suggest you take a look at that one as it is IMO most value for money in the low budget market.

I think they uses transition tunes.
There is pre-recorded transitions that changes the tempo like you describe
Some DJ record pools has those….

Headphones are very personal in how you feel and hear.
So you really have to try them on for yourself.

There is also an aspect of buildquality!

That is why some HP is very expensive to buy but they are cheep in the long term!
(That does not go for all HPs but most)

Senhiser HD25 and Denon HP1000/HP700 is some of the HP that I know for sure is build to last because I have
A pair of HP1000 that now has last for 4years and they still is as when I bought them.
I also has two friends that has HP700 that they have had for 3years and they are as new still.
And 3 other DJ friends with HD25 that has last for 5+years and still are as new!

Other DJs I know has had Sony 6month, Technics 12month, Pioneer 1000 2-3 month Pioneer HP2000 4-5 month Then they all broke!

This is not a Denon problem it is an Native Instruments Traktor problem!
And IMO the worst problem with Traktor.
You need to check and fix your beatgrid that is in 99% wrong in Traktor!
And for tunes that does not have a constant BPM it does not work to get a 100% correct beatgrid.
The only way (I know of) to get a correct 100% beatgrid on tracks that does not have a constant BPM
is to run them through Ableton Live and beatgrid them to a constant BPM in that prog first and then run them in Traktor.

So check your beatgrid and get it 100% right otherwise you will have to stop using autosync and snap.
And do your mixing the old way manua
