ParticipantWhat Plil says + a purchase of Platinum notes will help a lot IMO.
I run all my tracks through first Platinum notes then Mixed in key and then I tag them after that I run them in Traktor
And it helps a lot to run them in platinum notes for gain but you still have to do what Phil says!Pär Hessler
ParticipantIt is now more or less official:

ParticipantI recoment the Senhiser HD-25 or Denon HP1000 or some of the new Shure HPs
Senhiser and Denon has proven to last for a long time and the Shure is new but I have tested all of their new HPs and I am imressed by the build quality and the sound quality…..Pär Hessler

I do think it does most of the time but you can never get it 100% auto gained.
IMO when running PN and using Auto Gain in T2 it does not need much nudging but a little if you play
different genres and old/new music. It works fine for me….. It will help with PN but not 100%..Pär Hessler
ParticipantM-Audio Fasttrack pro is one very good soundcard for money IMO
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FastTrackPro.html
I have one and ám satisfied it also won the award best soundcard for DJs in DJ Mag
a year or two ago…..Pär Hessler
ParticipantTake your time and get rid of all tunes you never play = max 4k tunes left 🙂

That is not true! I have listned to them and there are many soundcards out there that sounds much better!
It has better sound than the built in soundcard in the Mixtrack pro on the other hand that is true.Pär Hessler
ParticipantTher is one controller that I could think of that meets you demands
1.reliability- Yes. Steel chassie and the best hardware taht any controller has IMO
2. portability- Yess small (a little heavy because of the steel chassie)
3. audio quality in the sound card. Yes absolutely very good soundcard in this one!
4. decent professional heavy duty outputs and a range of them- Yes but no booth out you have 2x main out so you can connect the other to a booth.
5. simplicity- a cross fader, two channel faders, eqs, gains. level indication, simple and useful effects
Yes, but the efx is in the software……The answer is Denon MC3000
And if you want all the out and ins you can ever think of + booth out you will have to live with a 4 channel mixer
then the answer is Denon MC6000Pär Hessler
ParticipantThe best option is to get the mixtrack pro instead it has a built in soundcard…..

ParticipantFirst of you can drop the Audio 2 DJ because the S2 has a built in soundcard.
Then you can use the S2 as main controller and add the X1 to eather deck 3+4 or map it
as a efx box. Also the machine micro can be used to drop loops and/or hotstarts…..That is the way I would do it anyway…..

ParticipantTake a look at this article:
http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2011/11/dj-controller-clinic-traktor-kontrol-s2-vs-denon-dj-mc3000/And you will find that the MC3000 is build by better components and has steel chassies compared to plastic on S2
It also has analoge inputs so that you can connect two CD players/ iPod or other sound source that
will rescue you if the computer needs to be restarted. That is not possible in S2.
Also the S2 is very tight to Traktor and therefore it is not a good choice if you think of using VDJ.
The MC3000 is made for both SW and will do the job with Traktor AND VDJ.Native Instruments is a software company that started doing hardware with the S4 about two years ago
Denon is a hardware company with over 100 years of experience in making hardware…..Pär Hessler
Participant1st off did it work before you installed the new .TSI into your sw?
If you run PC you need to install the ASIO driver and so on…….

ParticipantNon of the above!
I sugest the Numark Mixtrak Pro as it is the only low budget controler I would pay any money for.
But thats me……

And enough with the “you ain’t a dj if you don’t use vinyl” and “you need to respect what my generation and the one before me did” get over it. We “digital dj” do a lot more that what you guys can do with 2 pieces of static noise making vinyl. A dj is the one that’s make the crowd go the dance floor.
Then tell me one Top 100 DJ that uses 100% software and controller and not CDJs/Vinyl?
The big guys has not joined “the dark side” not yet anyway so there is still hope 😉
