So I had my first gig last night, and I must say, this course made me totally ready for it. I watched the whole course on Tuesday and had my gig on Saturday. The key to doing well at your first gig is practice: keep practicing your mixing after the 8th beat, etc and try to plan your playlist beforehand. What I noticed at the gig was that even though I thought mixing would be the most important thing at the gig, the most important thing is actually song selection, so make sure you have that down. Read the crowd and see how they feel and change songs appropriately.
