ParticipantMan I think Mixvibes is underated by many djs, I hope this program grows up to be top 3/ top 5 dj programs ro use unless Serato/Virtualdj/Traktor buys them.

As djs we are relying way to much on technology, don’t get me wrong this is the digital era and I love it but the tech is not supposed to make djing easier only the access to djing. For instance carrying crates of vinyl was too much for a dj alone so the CDJ’s where born and then the HDD(Hard Disk Drive) was introduce because you could load tons of songs to you computer. Apps like this is not only giving easier access for djing but it is making djing too easy. If someone can afford a tablet or $600 iphone/Samsung then I’m pretty sure they can afford a small beat pad for serato. A lot of the apps are making it way too easy to dj, sooner or later djing will no longer be an occupation due to these apps.

ParticipantHey DJ T Spin
1st are you using a PC or Mac
2nd let us know your specs on you computer/laptop/tablet/device being used and if you’re using windows/Linux/iOS
3rd let us know what your settings are on your software
4th if you can put up a video of what your problem is via youtube/vimeo that would be even more helpful, users and members have a much easier time if you upload your problem instead of them going crazy trying to visualize your problem.Problems could be grounding, Wifi, programs still running, settings or faulty device(not likely)
- Now chances are it may be a latency problem so check your latency settings, 512 or 10 ms is the standard for dj software settings so if it’s causing problems on that you may have to go higher up.
- Turn your wifi off, wifi can cause a lot of problems.
- Check to see if you have any programs running while djing.
- Another thing nothing should be (Assuming it’s a laptop) plug into the laptop unless it your power cord or something related to you djing(flash drive, external hard drives, controllers) that means your wireless mouse, phone charger or anything else shouldn’t be plugged in.
- Another thing that might cause a problem is grounding, sometime grounding the controller helps, or if your computer uses a power cord that has 3 prong you may need to add an adapter to it to use just 2 prong.
I hope I was helpful I don’t use itch, so hopefully a member who sees this forum who is more expertise at the matter can help you.

ParticipantCongrats!!!!

ParticipantThe volume control on some controllers work independent, meaning it will raise the volume of the mechanism rather than the software.

ParticipantI understand everyone comments and don’t disagree with any of them, it’s just that I thought Serato to more suited for the traditional Dj. Why a dj would ever need a remote for djing(for corntrolling loops or effects) I just don’t know.

ParticipantThe point I’m trying to make out here is that Serato seems like they are taking the fun out of being an actual dj. I wouldn’t be surprised if they came out with emulator such as tonetable and discontinued the SL and the TM mixer series. Though I am not that much of a fan for the SL series I think their mixers are extremely cool. I had to disable lots of options in virtual dj to get it down right to regular djing(such as disabling effect reset and pitch reset). Another thing about Serato is that it seems when they come out with one thing as soon as you buy it they are already doing something else which made what you brought irrelevant. I think I recall their video plugin became free for those who brought the SL 4, I felt sorry for those who had already brought the plugin for $99 USD and also had wanted to get the SL4 seems like a waste of money. My experience was through the SL1 I finally got one and the SL2 had came out the next week, this was during my college years.

Personally, getting it later. That’s what the keyboard shortcuts are for, O,P,[ & ] are the shortcuts for looping, I don’t think there is a single controller/mixer/effect pad is going to give you use of all the features from any djing software by buttons.

ParticipantSo any update? Hopefully he didn’t just sign up just to make this one post then disappear.

ParticipantYou should try asking people who live on the block what they want to hear.
Seeing that it’s Philly you should get Philly based music such as “Boys II Men- Motown Philly” or “Bell Biv Devoe- Poison (remix)”.
I had a party for a bunch of people who came from philly, don’t know why they where in New York but anyway I play a bunch off philly tunes but what made the place go crazy was when I played “Will Smith- Fresh Prince of Bel Air Theme Song” Everyone even the New Yorkers went crazy, I had everyone singing that song, though you have to chose the right time to play it save it as your trump card… Which reminds me I should start a forum on Djs Trump Cards for music.Dj Emazing

Sample Rate: 44100 Hz
Latency: 512
And i did not enable multi-core processing
I think a lot of djs use those settings for serato and virtual dj.

ParticipantYou don’t always have to use “DJ” in your name.
Some Djs also use “Mister”, “Master”, “Grand”, “Funk” etc. I’m just saying maybe not relying on the “DJ” may be better off for you.Dj Emazing
ParticipantI always tell djs to wait, I want the pioneer djssx too but I’m pretty sure as soon as I buy it Pioneer going to come out with something even more spectacular the next month. If you have the money wait and explore your options, we wouldn’t want Pioneer or another company coming out with a new version of something that works with an additional software “RADJKFLDavdvaKNFLAK NUMARK!!! COUGH COUGH!!!” oh man I need to check my allergies.

Participant- You need to relax, first tell us what kind of controller and software you’re using.
- Next go to youtube if you can and watch what other djs do with their controllers to get you confidence back up.
- After that continue on youtube and learn to use cdjs.
- I’m sure digitaldjtips has a forum that teaches you techniques on how to use cdjs
- Another thing, is it mandatory that you have to use the CDJ’s?
- Lastly don’t ever doubt yourself as a dj, I’ve been told by very few people (wannabe djs, jealous djs, haters) that I’m wack. It’s human nature and people will try to belittle/criticize you and make you feel that you can’t dj only to make themselves feel better. You can’t let that get to you because this may be you one and only fair chance at showing people you’re that damn good(Hopefully you are that damn good).
- I’ve had tons of people tell me I’m good at djing (Real Djs, clients, friends, promoters and managers) you just have to keep that in mind and let it guide you.
