Thats a tough one. Drink specials is a good way to go. or things like “this next one is a favorite for all” or something like “this next one is for all the single ladies” works. Or if no one is dancing and its just all ladies. call out the wall flower guys. As for the shyness, don’t sweat it. Most people barely stare at the dj when they are drinking.

Freebies are cool. I did a few house parties and a few people there were looking for a dj but didn’t want to pay for the typical mobile dj that is in it for a pay check not for the art. I ended up landing a huge amount of fame from it. Was able to land small gigs all around town. Great way to get your name known. Was invited on a set with a DJ I respect at one of the bigger clubs here in Seattle. Just takes patients.

Both seem a bit Cliche. They are both very profesional but don’t seem personal. Would look good on a business card or a signature but if you going to make it a decal for your laptop then I would go back the original design

First was OTS Audio DJ software.

I downloaded it because it was free. Liked it and paid for the pro. Bad choice. Even with the paid choice it would play an advertisement every 10 minutes.

I wanted to get into DJ’ing but didn’t do any research. Then I realized that the app was a joke and that controllers we’re not compatible with the software.

Good: Affordable, sounds great, Lows and Mids are fantastic, comfortable.
Bad: Highs could be a bit better

I started on a Hercules controller. Although they dont play cd’s, they are cheap and easy to use. Probably would be esiest to convert all your Cd’s to Mp3’s. A good Controller that plays cd’s would break the bank.

go with the QSC Powered K series. 2 Powered K12’s plus 2 Powered subs would be more than enough.

if the “play” will look like the rest of the font, it would look good. but either way it looks good

I would go with D-Wiz if I were you. When you use Duffman its too much like The Simpsons character and Dirty Wizard sounds more like a gamer tag. D-Wiz sounds good. Easy to remember and you wouldnt have to put “Dj” in front of it. I’m personally against the whole “DJ” and your name. When its just a name it sounds much better. I had to use Dj Eargazm at first just to make it clear, but now I go without it and thats what my clients know me as. just “Eargazm”

I would keep it man. it looks good. with them connected it keeps it looking like it was made in word. I get the same questions about my logo but having them connected gives it a stand out look. I see it as when people question it, they are looking longer at it which makes them remember it. I’ve gotten “what is it?” all the time but once they see it, they compliment the look of it

DJ Hessler, post: 11122 wrote: It is not easy to answer your question without knowing wich speakers you are talking about?

The usual way to connect is to connect from mixer to sub and from sub to top speakers.

Also in different speakers sometimes there is a switc on the sub and sometimes there are
4 out wich has connection to a sub filter for the top speakers and sometimes that is on the top speakers.
Sometimes there are no filter and in that case I strongly recommend you to buy an active filter
so that you can cut off the lower bass on the top speakers…..

Hands on you will hear if it sounds good or not……

thank you that helps a whole lot. much appreciated

I actually wear a shirt with my logo on it. I usualy just wear some jeans I can move in. (just in case I have to run from the booth to the bathroom) some easy slip on shoes and I wear my shirts with my logo on it. I try to convince a few friends to wear it to so people get interested to find out where they can get one. usually give a few out after the show. Its pretty much free advertisement.

Unless your signed onto an independent label, its pretty hard. Best bet is to DJ house parties and charge. I thought the same thing when I first started. Doing a live radio show would mean you need a fan base that would actually pay to listen
