So i guess my question here: Do you place your music files in organized file folders or just dump them all into one big folder?
My best advice is to make iTunes your default player. That way, iTunes will automatically store every music or mp4 file you play or have in your laptop. It will also automatically sort out the tracks in your designated folder based on Artist Name.
Basically, arrange iTunes to your personal liking, but bare in mind that if you move the track manually to another folder or make changes to it in your root folder, iTunes will not be able to locate it. The default settings for iTunes Media is user/music/iTunes/iTunesMedia..
Good Luck 🙂

help my pick
I have a pair of Denon HP500 and I can tell you that they look identical to the Xone XD-40. I’m pretty happy with my Denons. They’re comfortable and the sound quality is pretty good with high quality tracks (320kbps). They seem to do the job well enough so far, but I’ll surely upgrade to HD-25’s sometime in the future.

This is what I thought at first. Any idea or advice on how to fix this problem in the future?

Try djtunes.com or you might even find a few in iTunes stores

I am currantly at home with a bad cold and heavy headake 🙁To your problem. I could not recunstruct that on my MC6000
But I have an Idea. There is a small switch right over the level meaters.
Could it be that you accidently has switched it to the middle??To the left (CH 2/3) You get the left meter for Channel 2 and the right for Channel 3)
In the middle possision (Ch 1/4) As 2/3 but for 1/4)
To the right (MASTER) You get master left and right.I hope that is the case, otherwise ask again….
No worries Hess. Hope you get well soon buddy. Regarding your question, I currently have my switch to 2/4. It won’t work even if I switch it to 2/4 or Audio or Video through CF Mode.
Anyway, here’s the deal.. After further research online, I stumbled across a couple of tsi files that should eventually solve the problem. Because I am a total nnob when it comes to tsi files or firmware, I thought I’d ask here first. It says in the instruction that I should add “the” tsi file in conjunction with standard Denon mapping for the MC6000.
Can anyone explain what that really means and how to do that?
Here’s a link to the tsi file I found:

ParticipantAnyone else out there knows how to fix this problem or had an experience like it before?

ParticipantOther, enlighten me, my budget is at a maximum of about 700$ if I can sell the Mixtrack for like 150. I’m pretty new to all of this.
Thanks!
You can get an open-box DN-MC6000 from a certified Denon Dealer in the US for less than $700. I second DJ Hessler’s advice regarding the MC6000 over the S4. The solid feel of Denon will make you forget all other models you had in mind. I can send you a link if you want
Good Luck with your new investment 🙂

ParticipantHess is the man when it comes to Denon. He sure knows his stuff right! Let’s hope he comes across this thread and have an answer that perhaps other members might benefit from besides me.

I’m a hobbist beginner DJ, finishing my new apartment and need some help with speakers, please.
I am travelling to SF in early march, and want to buy a pair of speakers for my new apartment here in my country. Electronic products are way too expensive here. If you guys could recommend a pair of speakers, I would appreciate it a lot.
The specs I’m looking for are these (or as close as possible), in order of priority:
– Up to $600
– Small enough to fit in a travel bag
– Nice designI’m thinking of buying a subwoofer here, because those are too large to fit in my bag.
Also, if you guys know of stores in SF, it would be great. I’m getting a Traktor S4 as well.
BEST!!!
ThomasI totally second Eros’s advice regarding the Rokit 6’s. I have a pair of Rokit 5’s playing in a room which is about 30sqm, and they totally rock!!!! If there’s any way you can make the compromise of carrying a pair of Rokits, I am confident you will never regret buying them. They are an awesome piece of work!!
However, if you’re interested in something small and pretty light to carry while traveling, I would seriously recommend the Bose Companion 5. Although they are classified as Multimedia Speakers, they are much more impressive than that the label and are cheaper than the budget you proposed. I think they’ll be great for an apartment or a bedroom, but wouldn’t rely on them as main speakers for a party.

Great advice and thanks a lot for giving it.. 😀 I will surely practice that from now on. Any tips on adjusting the overall volume level while recording, or did it sound fine to you?

ParticipantThe thing I hate most about Traktor’s music management system is that it reads the root name of the file and that causes me issues every time I import new tracks from my music folders. Even if I changed the name or details of the track, it would reset back to root name.
Any suggestions regarding this matter? Am I missing something or doing something wrong here?

ParticipantA pretty good way to start is buying Algoriddim’s DJay 4.0 since you already own a Macbook pro. It’s a great application for the money and a pretty good way to start. I’ve been using it for over a year now going through Djay 3.0 and the recently introduced version 4.
Btw, Phil was kind enough to write up a full review on the app in the blog about a week ago. Look it up, as I’m sure you’ll like it
