hahah good stuff but Red Nose goes in!! It’s a banger Hip/Hop track by Sage the Gemini. I just threw that into my last gig that was themed as a Midnight Twerk Fest and it set the place off!

I apologize for taking so long ! Just have been caught up, however I do have some positive feedback. I watched some of the Iceman tutorials and took some insight from that while making sure I knew the tracks i wanted to play fairly well so that it wasnt a hassle live to time when to send the next track in with only its Bass and cut the current tracks Bass out , often during a vocal segment without the kick… As far as scratching, it remains my current goal to conquer.

Over here at Ohio State University I have shuffled often when playing for the college crowd. Although I musically appreciate and enjoy long mixes, I just haven’t been given the opportunity to utilize those techniques and progression with the audience I deal with. Everyone here is partying and wants that “wow” factor of popular tracks from multiple genres being mashed and mixed together for a funky party atmosphere. I would never use the shuffling in any festival however, sticking to a single path of progression. Honestly though, jumping from a variety of tracks and finding wild off the wall ways to blend the genres on the go for the college crowd has been rewarding for me!

Is there any back up software that is preferred for DJs such as to save my computer as a whole and still have my music with cue points and all that ? AND in regards to Flashdrives which I use, is there a way to save the music with the cue points and everything in it so it is ready to go once i plug it in?

Thanks for the response ! And the question you raise is definitely an interesting one. Would be a lot more convenient as long as you can connect to the Cloud when you need too.

If anything sometimes when I am playing out I will keep my VUs on check according to time intervals for how long I am playing. Usually using my own PA System I fear damaging them just as much as I want my Mix to have good Quality, so I progressively increase the Gain and Volume in Peaks that occur throughout my Mix. I often find myself dropped my volumes back down after a peak to give my PA a break and to reestablish some control over what I sound like !
