Thanks Vintage, was thinking of making my own, got a sample of a rocket launch countdown and chuck a nice rise behind it, but was wondering if anyone had anything already……I’m playing ghetto funk all evening, big beats and very tongue in cheek so after the countdown I’ve narrowed it down to a remix I made of daft punks ‘one more time’, a very funky remix of Leo Sayers ‘you make me feel like dancing’ or throw the rule book out of the window and go old school disco funk with Chic’s ‘Good times’ from which I can go into rappers delight and then wherever it takes me!

I play a lot of ghetto funk/nu-funk/mid tempo breaks which deals with this type of music check out https://soundcloud.com/ghettofunk, they have loads of tracks by different people and the best bit is that lots of them are FREE

Have to agree with Terry on this one, some great tracks on there so you obviously know your hip hop but let down by the mixing.

    That made me laugh.

    Hey Kevin,

Had a listen (and followed you) and I’m not going to lie, it’s not my kind of music, however in general it is sounding good, Logic isn’t an easy program to get the hang of (in my experience anyway, I’m an Ableton kind of guy) and to manage that in a couple of weeks shows that you have some skills.

My only (constructive) criticism at this point is the breakdowns and buildups, It’s all about tension and release and (for me) the buildup is lacking a certain something. Being the Ableton user that I am I could offer you some advice on how to do this but it would be pointless so maybe have a look at http://www.logicprohelp.com/.

Anyway, hope this helps, it is just my opinion but hope to hear more from you.

Good choice of music, a man after my own heart, listening to your swing mix right now and liking it.

    Welcome,

Started out as a hip hop dj myself and have a long list of dj’s for you to check out, but it depends on what style of hip hop you are playing, the obvious dj’s for me would be people like Format, Dan Greenpeace, JFB and Yoda.

I’d be interested to hear a mix from you.

Cheers guys, guess it’s going to be the F1 then, although I do like the arcade buttons on the MF, but if there is no velocity sensor then I feel they are missing out on a trick. Just wish I could use my apc20 to control the remix decks

I use the 9 faders on my MID keyboard to control the EQs and volume faders in Traktor. If I wanted, I could even map keys to fire off hotcues or chained effects. It all depends on how you want to use it.

Thanks, quite new to traktor so might have to have a play and see what I can do, might have to hit you up for some advice if I get stuck!

    Saved me from asking it.

    And a perfect answer.

Following on, is there a way to use an apc20 to trigger them?

Nice mix dude, proper funky, I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on the scratch course.

If you get the chance and you like Ghetto Funk have a listen to http://i.mixcloud.com/CCPmBR and let me know what you think
