Im looking at the Numark Mixtrack/Mixtrack Pro for a controller and into Toshiba, Asus, HP LaptopsI’m a mac user for djing, however for my day job… when ever I’m on the road I have an asus laptop. I do a lot of 3d modeling on it, zero problems. I would suggest getting at least 4G of ram though. HP is over priced in my opinion and I feel like toshiba is falling off the map as far as quality goes.
Hope this helps

Untill You degvelope a following, play what people want (to an extent)
That might just mean dropping a top 40 remix every half hour…
My two cents

MemberThe build quality of the DDJ T1 seemed more “plasticky” than the S4, DM-6000, and NS-6

MemberI landed a steal at guiatr center for my MC-6000
$799.00 Retail, Traded my RMX ($100 for that) + 15% off for the trade in + $100 off purchase of $499 or more. Also I had $100 in gift cards from credit card rewards…. with tax grabbed it for around $500. Be patient and the deals will come, for me it was the perfect storm of coupons… lol

MemberMy 2 cents… unless its a night dedicated to dub, its still not the norm…. I dropped a dub remix on accident at my first gig, thank fully it was not a packed house… and there was serious “wtf” from the crwod… I love dubstep, but don’t think people in KC are two keen on it as main stream yet.

MemberStarted with VDJ, then tried traktor pro for a few months and then switched back to VDJ pro 7. I’m no controllerist by any means, and don’t remix anything to insane on the fly, so VDJ seemed like the logical choice for me. Traktor pro has a high learning curve in my opinion

MemberTop 40 pays my way in Djing, lol But I Agree there is an art to it. Any one can play song after song, but capturing your crowd and then slipping in some non chart stuff and seeing them go crazy is a great feeling…

MemberRMX, Loved that thing… but love my current set up as well

MemberI bought the Denon mc 6000 about 3 months ago. Upgraded from an RMX. Best Purchase I’ve made in years, you WILL NOT regret it I promise
