    The problem with this kind of thought process is when people think about doing something ex. being a DJ, making music, most of the time they may think about the finish line … which is not bad in some cases it may keep you focused. But on the other hand when you are not experiencing much success, or something goes wrong, it feels a bit deperessing, you want to quit instead of working harder. You have to do the best you can, with the things you have now.

    There is nothing more compelling then being happy after playing an important gig,
    It is great that you handled everything like a champ, and everybody was happy.
    About the advices you posted, those are pretty important, really helpful got build up self-confidence.

    Good attidute, there are many occasions to play and I hope most of them the will work out well for you giving opportunity to be creative as much as you like.

    @DJ AMK you are definitely right about the separation, but in some cases it is ok to work and play on the same machine, you just have to be somewise responsible, a lot of care and it should be ok I believe.

    @clockwise checking out your accout on yt right now and I really like what I’m hearing. You can easy find yourself in many genres as I can see, it’s impressive.

    Try to relax before the set, make a little research on the place where you are expected to play that longish set, In such long sessiones there must be a period of time where you can experiment with samples, and make your own unique stuff, whenever you are insecure about your Djing have something just in care to help yourself out, but dont go on with just pre-recorded tunes.

    If you are the type of person who enjoys long sessions with video games, go on with your PC you possible ordered.
    What soundcard did you choose in the end?
    I always thought Macbooks are essential in outdoor performances.

    Messing around with only samples and loops is my favourite type of work I just love it
    it gives you so many ideas to blend different musical genres. Give it a try, be bold, experiment with sounds and samples, I can assure you it is not a bad idea, also the effort sometimes you put can be very rewarding.

    This type of story is the one I hear very often, We have to realise that some people can’t tell the difference between creating something on the fly and just playing fancy, famous tunes. Sometimes there is no room for creativity in this bisness which is incredibly disapointing. Cheer up mate.
