I created an account and did a test stream and ti worked pretty well. Was even able to pull it up and stream from my iPhone. But I haven’t had time to mess with it since.

I agree. Thanks for all the great information! I think I’m going to stick with renting for the time being as I am in WAY over my head in both knowledge and funds. But i have learned a lot and I’m sure after using some rented PA’s and continuing to research by the time i have the funds I will be able to make a well balanced system.

Thanks again to all for your constructive comments.

Well originally i was thinking like $600 USD. Then i realized that’s not enough to wipe my ass with when it comes to PA’s. So realistically the ceiling of my budget would be $1000. I’ve had folks tell me it would be better to just rent a system when i need it for the time being until i can get enough cash to put together a good system.

Then I stumbled on the B-52 Matrix systems I mentioned above. At this point I am trying to force myself out of my bedroom and do a few parties or even through a couple of parties just to get out there and try to make a little cash to grow my hobby to more than just “DJ’ing” to myself and them web. I dot want to be famous but I enjoy it and just want to make some money to put back into it. Not live off of.

    What do you think?

This has by far been the best response I have received on this topic! Thank you so much.

I did not realize I would need a crossover at all. I most likely would have broken something.

So if I were to go the active route. Considering I like to play a lot of electro/house and things of the like I will for sure want a sub right?

Do you have any recommendations on brands, models, etc?

I was looking at a B-52 Matrix system that looked like it would get me buy. I just want to get the most bang for my buck.

    Either this one

Or this one which is more the budget I was looking at

Well if your going to have it on a short run it should be fine. I think unbalanced gets rough if your going long distances.

    I like this idea

Unfortunately I learned to DJ drunk the hard way. I was DJing my girlfriends birthday party and being in party mode I wanted to celebrate with her as well. So I had made a potent concoction of random booze in our liquor cabinet of Vodka, Rum, Gin, Blue Curacao, and some sour mix. It was actually VERY tasty. I put all of this into a large pickle jar.

So apparently I was the only on drinking this god awful drink and drank well over half of the jar. I ended up on the ground vomiting my damn guts out! It was terrible. The only thing I remember was her standing over me asking if she should call an ambulance. I was trying to say yes but nothing would come out. Worst night drinking EVER!

Good news is it was a small party and by the time this happened it was just close friends left and no one held it against me since the night had moved into more of a chill mode. Since I’ve shown my girlfriend the basics in Traktor she was able to put it on one of my chill lists and put it onto auto play. They just kind of let me sleep on the floor of the deck for a while lol

    DON’T DRINK AND DJ!

A little herbal stimulation never hurts… but just a little before hand to calm the nerves. Its not professional to do either of these in the workplace.
