I use an S2 and an F1. I have the F1 set up for decks c/d (remix decks) and use the s2 for a/b like Mr. Lawrence above. I also have the F1 midi mapped (shift+midi to switch) to behave like a midi fighter pro with the instant gratification mapping. It gives a ton of versatility and really more functionality than is really needed. I agree with that the statements that to F1’s seems like overkill because you can swith quickly and easily between 2 decks.

As far as keys on the Camelot wheel, there are ways to make bigger jumps. If you go up 2 or 7 on the same ring (inner or outer) it can actually create an energy increase, conversely you can down 2 or 7 and relax the energy a bit. I know Key =/= energy, but try it out and you will be surprised.

BTW, I did not come up with this technique, but I read it and gave it a shot with very pleasing results.

There is a write up on Native Instruments Forums about USB 3.0 issues you may want to check out. When I switched to digital recently I went with an S2 and F1 and have never been happier.

I started on 1200’s with a shite mixer and learned to beatmatch when I only had 3 records. I now use sync mostly for quick tempo adjustments then turn it off. However, I find it funny that people think sync solves everything. For one, if you don’t have your tracks perfectly beat gridded, you will not sound good even with sync. I can promise you I spent more time beat gridding 2000+ tracks than anyone has learning to beat match. Secondly, the sync button does not make songs sound good together… neither does beat matching them. You still have to know what the fug you are doing either way. A proper mix is a proper mix no matter which method you use… and a shit mix is shit.

I agree with a previous poster… it is sad we can’t get away from hate even on a digi DJ forum.

I believe it is a Bassex bootleg I nabbed as a free download on soundcloud, but I will double check when I get by my PC. Thanks for the responses everyone.

Thanks, I am glad that came across, because honestly the birth of my daughter and my recent wedding are the only times I can remeber being happier than I am when I am playing. I hope to someday be able to share that with more people.

I posted a mix on soundcloud recently with similar type errors. I went ahead commented on my mistakes in advance. It kept the flaming down and let people know I heard it, but still felt it was worth sharing.
