I feel like I found a whole new world of djing, I fell in love with vinyl a few months back while going through my buddies old crates and never looked back. I now run a DVS system with Traktor Scratch using the Audio 6 and would like hear your guys thoughts.

I started with a S4. Loved it but got to compliant with hitting the sync and getting kind of bored with it. I always wanted to scratch, and that was way hard on the S4. I ended up selling it, thinking it was a faze and I was done. WRONGO. I ended up buying a couple stanton t60’s and a cheap mixer to get me by. Well that didn’t last long as I bought the Traktor Z2 and 2 Numark TTX turntables. I am amazed by them. I know the Z2 you can sync with but it’s like I have more drive to beat match since i’m learning to scratch finally. Still super stoked and play more than I ever did with the S4. On another note. I scratch minimally with traktor because I bought some vinyl to use. And I find the response way better on the vinyl.

I started about 6 months ago with a S4. I love mine and added a F1 to it. I don’t think its too much controller. I have been making mixes and doing a small bit of mash ups, and am starting to get a lot better. I like using the filters on my S4, so I am not sure what it would be like not to have them. (The S2 doesn’t have them, but u can map them)I would say go for it. But there are so many new awesome controllers. That new Pioneer looks amazing and the jogs on it feel great too. Do plenty of research. Good Luck!

Oh, also with the scratching subject in hand. It is not easy and is something that needs to be practiced. But with more research, I would like to get pro scratch and a real turntable. The only other piece of equipment that I can think of that I would like to get is a Traktor F1, or Novation Launchpad….. More research to be done

The setup wizard takes care of basically all the settings. Was it a case of setting latency or not being familiar with Traktor preferences?

Definitely messing with the prefrences. I want to learn to scratch with it, so I adjusted the cross fader and the latency. One of the main problems is my system. I honestly didn’t think it was gonna work. I have a macbook, but its older and has the intel core duo (not intel core 2 duo), it only has 2 gigs of ram. Also my hard drive is running on crutches. I figured I was going to have to get a new macbook to make it run right. I still will get a new one, because I’m in school, but its not as urgent =)
