Thanks. I would say that actually the Denon MC3000 has more features then the pioneer, but the Pioneer looks like it has better jog wheels. Also, the Denon is not solely USB powered, and it has an AC adapter as well that needs to be plugged in to operate it. Is this a big issue for mobility? The Denon has balanced outputs and many more that the SB does not have. Is this a major concerning factor in the decision between the two controllers. I also like the small compact size of the Denon. The SB does look visually more appealing, and the software looks better.

I haven’t made the plunge and gone for it, but from what I’ve seen it looks VERY nice. I would go for it if you had the chance, but obviously other people will have other opinions.

Although I have not actually purchased a controller yet, but during my research for buying a controller I came across several controllers that might be worth while to have. Out of these two the Behringer looks like the better controller because of the layout. I personally do not like the layout of the Hercules. I would check out the reviews of both of them though before making a decision. Other controllers that I would suggest are the upcoming Pioneer DDJ-SB (which I am looking in to), the Denon MC3000 (a little pricy, but looks pretty awesome), and the Numark Mixtrack Pro II (or the Mixtrack Pro if you want to go really cheap) There are limitations for each controller as well as providing different softwares that come with it, but you will have to look at those more. The other controller in the price  range is the Pioneer DDJ-WeGo, but I do not personally like the jog-effects and I would much rather have dedicated knobs, etc. Definitely check those out and let me know what you find because I am still on the hunt as well.

I personally use the Audio Technica ATH-M50’s. These are arguably the best headphones out there right now. I can also testify to that. The sound quality is absolutely amazing. They have a very nice balanced sound, and the bass is definitely not jacked up as is the case with Dr. Dre Beats. The ATH-M50’s are so good, you could even use them to produce music in the future if you so desire. They are studio quality stuff. I saw that Terry suggested the AKG’s. From what I have read is that the headphones are not built very well and break easily. You are free to do more research with that if you wish. The M50’s are also built well, so you should not have a problem with that. I highly recommend these headphones and you will not regret getting them. The only down-side I will say is that they are a bit pricy, but I thought it was worth it. If your DJ headphones break, you could use these instead and still listen to them casually. Check them out.

What are your thoughts on the Pioneer DDJ-SB?

Thanks guys. Would be able to recommend any other controllers other than the mix track pro series? Or is that really the best option.
