@ Kent Do you supply a playlist to the crowd in a club? If a member post a link to their mix with or without a playlist I’ll listen even if it’s not my normal genre.
To be a helpful forum it’s good to listen to the mixing technique of others good or bad and offer some useful comment.
I don’t have to like the music to be able to appreciate the mix and with so many music recognition apps I really dont need a playlist unless the app can’t tag it and it’s a track I’d like to have. Yes it’s good to see one but it’s not essential. Personally I’m more interested in how they’re mixing, ie manually or with sync enabled. Full tracks or Ableton like samples hits. Can you imagine a playlist of samples?….lolDeeJay SiBoogie
ParticipantThe days when Pioneer released quality ended with the CDJ1000s. The customer service is a joke, the DJM2000 is only now getting a firmware update that may or may not fix all the bugs, the CDJ2000 nexus was released with so many bugs it was all but useless. It was so unstable many DJs refused to use it and Pioneer had to post an apology advising a firmware update would be available at the end of Nov’. The RekordBox software needed to utilise all the functions. of their CDJs is still unstable.
I for one won’t be giving PIoneer another penny no matter how good their gear may seem. My next kit will probably be from DenonDeeJay SiBoogie
ParticipantThe Radius 2000 is a media player and midi controller, no CD function. I had a pair of 3000s which have the CD player. I think they take up to a 32Gb USB stick a pair would cost around £500

ParticipantIt depends on your current collection and how often you get new music but really 320Gb is a small HD for most DJs. I have 1T?b and 2Tb ext HD’s for my collection and I’m about to upgrade my Laptop HDs to a 1Tb. for potabilty I use 64Gb USB stick

ParticipantWhen I play out on my own set it depends on the size of the venue. Small venues I use my mixer in stereo with 1 amp driving two 15″‘ medium venues I’ll have the same set up with a second amp in mono driving either 1 or 2 subs. Another trick I’ve picked is to split the decks across across 4 channels so I can use the up faders to control what come out of the left and right channels. This allows me to put effect on the left channel whist leaving the right playing unaffected

ParticipantYou’ll need an audio interface and some time code CDs if you’re using the 1000. I’ve used my 900s with Traktor but they have a soundcard built in and are midi also. I don’t use a DVS anymore though I just use RekordBox on my Laptop or export playlist to USB sticks

In summary if the tune can be downloaded and cut out of mix then they can take them down. Just mix well…which is what you should be doing anyways…lol
It doesn’t matter what you do with a track it will always be covered by copyright laws.

ParticipantmIxify for me, it has a great community. Some of us form this forum do a weekly Sunday session “B2B” come and check us out or come and join us

ParticipantI love to use loops as overlays, so much so I’m looking to buy to more CDJs to give me the ability to mix 4. As for fx I’ve an RMX1000 and even after nearly 6mths I’m still trying to perfect it’s use. The way I see it fx are like anything else in the mix; it should be noticed it should seem to be a part of the whole.

ParticipantTry this TSI https://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/53 I don’t know how much controll of the remix decks it gives but it’s worth looking at.

ParticipantRemove the setting from the broadcast area, they’re for broadcasting the metadata although I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to credit the artist and tracks you’re playing. Remember learning of tracks is a two way street and it’s not hard to find out the title of a track just by listening as there are so many audio recognition tools these days. Also, it’s not as if the DJs on Mixify are you neighbours and in completion with you, me included. I don’t use DVS so can’t send metadata but I wish I could but when I play if some one ask the the track info I always give it, it’s about being a community and sharing.

ParticipantThe midi fighter 3d would never be unusable and like any kit takes getting used to. As for support DJTT probably offers more support than NI does for it’s own products. I used their firmware hack updates for the VCI 100 and it made it a controller hard to be beaten even by the majority of new controllers being issued out today.

ParticipantWhen you log in to you event you get the option to select your sound card input from their you set you sound level and you should be good to go. You’re able to record up to 2hr or you can upload a mix up to 120mb. I use CDJs and run a line from my mixer to the mic input on my laptop. There’s a group of us from here that do a weekly session some of those guys use software so look up the post and ask in their if you need more help, one of them should be able to guide you if you need more info.

ParticipantThe hacking has been done and the midi fighter 3d from DJ Tech Tools is one bit of kit to consider
