Yeah, and for fixing up a mixtape, you DON’T want to use production software, as they tend to lock you into a BPM. That said, Audacity is a free choice, but it does color the sound just slightly… not enough to matter much, since you’re mixin’ tracks together and addin’ a lot of color anyway, but Audacity is not a transparent audio editor.

Once I’m working again, it should be more than affordable for me – and yeah, it seems quite clear to me that it’s worth taking. It’s looking like I will be working again before the next time it comes up.

BTW, what is the question? Lots of explanatory text, but the question is unclear.

I would like to modify that order slightly – if you haven’t started this already, do the full backup of your 7 database BEFORE you uninstall 8, just to be completely safe. It is probably unnecessary, but is still not a bad idea.

Thanks, appreciate it! Friended you back on Soundcloud, will check it out in the mornin’.

I do have the kick and snare sidechained, but only to a bass cut rather than a full pumping compressor… not real sure it’s working well enough for me – but I can tell you this, it’s clear on a sub. heh. I may experiment with expanding the band of the bass cut, as I would like to not do a complete cut of the bass if at all possible.

Thanks for listening and the feedback, appreciate it!

OK. I don’t see anything at all, no link has ever been visible to me in this thread.

For what it’s worth, the forum software here eats my links too – you gotta take off the “s” in https. This is a new problem because recently, decent browsers started defaulting to https if it was at all possible.

I get the jitters too… did for my first show, and for every show that wasn’t a venue I’d played before.

I don’t know if it’ll work for you, but I just spend a lot of time practicing heading into the show.

The biggest thing I recommend, you may do this already, but you may not – even when practicing at home, when you screw up, DON’T stop… recover, move on. I suffer from the “whoops, stop, start again” thing… if you do too, then try real hard to stop doing that. It makes a big difference for me.

… and keep your eye out for the scratching course… it’s not currently open, but when it does, it looks to be a really good (though a tad expensive) course. I haven’t been able to afford it yet, but when I have the dosh, I’m gettin’ it.

Fair enough. That doesn’t match the model they sell their audio interfaces under, but they may well get away with yanking the rug out from under people if they were to do such a thing.
