MemberUSA – St. Louis/Baltimore. This is what I’ve seen from other DJ’s I’ve met, or at clubs and shows to which I have been. Also, keep in mind that St. Louis and Baltimore have a long history of hip-hop culture.
Budget – Numark Mixtracks and Vestax Spins/Typhoons
Midrange – A lot of people use vinyl at clubs! A number of S2/4’s, VCI-300’s, and Novation lauchpads. All sorts of mixers.
High-end – CDJ 1000/2000’s. APC-40’s. I’m not sure which mixers, since I don’t know a lot about them.
Software – Serato is the king. Then comes traktor. And finally, Ableton.Dayvue
MemberDo we have to stick with the 128 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 format? Or can we play around with it a little more? I personally go from moombahton to dubstep a lot, and do a lot of 110-140 switches.

MemberThe bottom-right one is the best, IMO. I wouldn’t go with the headphones since everyone and their uncle does too.

Memberlordy lord… I really hope no-one ever does that to me. At least they went into a good song? I feel like he should have seen that on the waveform though, since he’s using serato, and keeps staring at the screen. The drop in We Found Love surely has a lot more red than the Weather girls?

MemberVestax made the VCI-100 and VCI-300, some of the best known midi controllers out there. The VCI-100 is the most-modified controller of all time, from what I have seen.
But in terms of learning what everything does, I would definitely download a copy of Digitial DJ Home and play around with the controls to get the idea of what everything does.

MemberExcellent!

MemberWow, that is really good! I am very impressed. I have no more suggestions; it is great! What little corrections are you thinking of? Also, sorry for the long response time. I’ve been in Honduras on a Medical brigade and have not had any Internet access.

MemberO_O wowwww that is super-cool!

MemberCool! This is pretty good!
I have 2 ideas.
1). Would it be hard to squeeze the logo horizontally so that the letters are not as wide? It seems like there is lots of space between the D and A, Y and V, and V and U.
2). Do you think it would be possible to fade the top/bottom to black/grey, like in the concept sketch? Or would that be too complicated? And great job with the angled color fades! Also, what if we made the holes in the D and the A look like this (with the idea of there being play/pause buttons)?

I would like to try to incorporate the play/pause idea, as it seems appropriate and elegant for a DJ.
Can anyone think of a better way to incorporate the play/pause symbols in this logo?

MemberMak Attack has a very nice ring. However, it does sound distinctly non-mainstream (like Massive Attack and Attack Attack!)

Membersounds like the reloop is a good choice for you since you’ve done your homework and know what you want.

MemberMixtrack Pro fo sho: see the millions of other threads of people recommending it. Best $$ for functionality and is perfect for occasional usage at parties.
