Memberi would goto your local clubs and talk to the dj’s there and see what they have and would recommend maybe they have one you could try for 10 mins before a club opens, maybe they will tutor you.

MemberJust buy the cable to do it, it cost me £4 far easier than trying to “O’neil” it

MemberI see way too many DJs who consider themselves as “DJs” yet in my opinion really arnt. What i am taking about is DJs who dont really mix. I am only speaking from an EDM (125-175bpm). HipHop/Wedding DJs i can see how this would not relate as often you dont really beat match and just go from song to song as its hard to mix such a varity of tempos (Although Kudos for those of you who can).
It’s not all about beatmatching
I’m a Dj that does alot of diffrent events and venues from wedding and birthdays (18th is the youngest i have done, a 80th next week to do will be the oldest) to stripclubs to bars and late spot’s.
When I can i beat mix if i can’t due to bpm’s i cut i fade i slam it in, all about the timing of how you do it. it as important to read the crowd. no point taking away a song they are danceing to just to change it becasue you are bored with it, no way in hell would i cut out a song half way thru because i’m bored if the crowd is loving it
However if i see the dancefloor thinning then i might to a quick mix or a cut and bring in the next one to keep up the tempo or the energy
I think it all depends on the night your doing and the crowd you have if they like the quick changes of song then they will lap it up but if they don’t then they won’t come back…. or you won’t be asked backand I find it far more challanging as a DJ to be asked to go from motown to rock to 90’s house to pop/top40 to rock&roll and back in 30mins then just sticking to one genre

Memberi have done gigs at a strip club twice and i enjoyed it lots of banter with the girls (oh the girls!!) and the punters which was fun musicly it was mostly top 40’s with a few rock/country songs thrown in for good measure,
When i went there i was told that the songs needed to be between 3:30 and 4:30 long and no more or less and blending was not really a issue it was more cut and fade stlye mixing, by the end of the night i had not only the girls dancing but the punters (male and female) dancing around and had a amazing night both times unfortunately it was only sick cover for there regular dj but i am hoping to get his residancy off him when he quit’s…Dave W
MemberI use a mixtrack pro with vdj 7 pro, and it’s a good match, i do mobile work with it and have no problems with it at all, it has a built in sound card, so you won’t need to buy one, i plug it thru a numark mix2 allinone cd player thru the RCA connections and then into the speaker but you could get wires to run straght to a amp or power speakers ( i run with the mix2 because i want back up if my laptop goes down, not that it has and have run it for over 20 hour) my only complaint is that the headphone output is a little quite.
Build quality is a bit plastic and the pitch controls are a little weak as they bent when placed in bag for transport but since have got a cheap flight case for it which is well padded and have not had a problem since (they bent back into place) the touch jogs are nice very sensitive when in scratch mode, but when turned off won’t effect the music and are like a pitch bend.
Overall i like it have had some cracking nights using it and would recommend it for a beginner/intermidate user
(note this is my first controller and was brought on a budget, however i did spend many hours researching this and other controllers within my budget and outside of it, then i did a test drive at my local dj shop on all of them as well, basicly i got them to set up the ones i wanted to test for me with my laptop and ran thru a short mix with each. If you can get your local shop to do this then i would recommend doing this, not all shops are that willing to let you do this thou)
