What? I had actually never heard of these Stantons! Is this another choice to consider? Can anyone comment on how these perform compared to the Denon SC3900s?

OK, I’d say that about 50% of that makes sense to me. So if I switch to Hybrid mode, I can control Traktor fully but I still need to go through a Traktor audio card or Mixer? There’s no way that the Denons can connect directly to laptop via USB and control it like a controller? I thought that was what the MIDI mapping was for.

    Forgive me for my ignorance.

Thanks for the great feedback on this guys. I guess another area I’m unsure on is connecting to Traktor. To use the Denon SC3900s in hybrid mode, do I need to use Timcode media? Can I control Traktor directly using the Denons? If so, how is that experience? I have the laptop and external soundcard, so I don’t really want to invest in DVS after shelling out for the Denons.

    Cheers,

Yeah, definitely think I’m going to plump for the 3900s. I really want to have the feel of vinyl and the easo of digital music libraries. One issue, which I’m not sure is a problem or not, is that Denon’s don’t seem to be standard in club setups (where Pioneer are probably installed). Is there a significant jump to be made switching form my home Denon setup to pioneers in the club. Is this people experience – that Denons can’t be found in clubs?

I’ve heard good things about Engine. I have a lot of music in FLAC, which I understand is unsupported by the Denons (unfortunate). So will Engine also convert all those files to WAV/ MP3? Aside from that I don’t forsee having to use Engine much as I keep my music well organized and know where to find everything.

Thanks! That was a good read some detailed info. It seems that the 3900 improves on the 3700 overall.
