The unit was designed as a standalone that played off usb devices first and formost. Functioning as a MIDI controller was just an added bonus. According to the Stanton forums, it is some kind of hardware limitation that prevents the audio from working in controller mode.
The Stanton SCS.4DJ was only designed to function as a MIDI controller. The audio part was not designed as a sound card thru MIDI. All this information is available at Stanton’s forum. Hope this helps.
Are you using the default beatgrids on the tracks or have you tried to manually adjust them to make sure they’re dead on? if not, check out this video:
Hey Max,
What you are missing here is the RANE 57 mixer is a mixer with the Serato SL-1 sound card built into it. The Numark X5 mixer you would still need to buy a sound card like a Serato SL-2 or Native Instruments Audio-6 to connect between the turntables and the mixer. And just because a mixer is DIGITAL or has USB does not mean you can use Serato Scratch Live or Traktor Pro Scratch with it. Do some research into mixers and/or sound cards designed to work with the software you are going to use. It will save you a lot of headaches down the road.
