ParticipantI’m using serato intro, I’m only a hobby dj so don’t really want to purchase the full thing.
Turns out the output 2 isn’t what I thought it’s not a true output as per output 1.
My mixtrack output runs straight to my amp, if I had the full setup would it still record my sets setup up like this? The only lead to my laptop is the USB cable to the mixtrack.
Is the sound quality poor because I’m using an rca into the laptops mic input? Do I need an external sound card as I have read about?

ParticipantA new laptop isn’t really do’able at the moment, wondering whether some more ram and a switch to traktor would do it?

ParticipantI’ll try keeping my master turned down a bit more. Im using to having the master at full then using my gains to control volume. I have to say though for 50 quid the mixtrak was a worthy purchase and intro to digital mixing

ParticipantCheers for your help. I’ve read so much conflicting stuff on quality it’s hard to know what to believe. Especially when I have 192’s that sound ace and some wavs that sound shite!!

ParticipantIt is indeed a pro model, I was aware of it needing to be the pro due to the soundcard thing as I read that on here . I dj oldschool happy hardcore so effects aren’t really high on my list want to keep my mixing old school but hopefully the digital side will keep things tighter! . I’m currently on vinyl but fancied a go at digital so I’m just trying to do it as cheap as possible without buying total rubbish.
Will I ever play out at a rave? highly unlikely as that genre of music has its Dj’s that have been around years. There is a possibility of me doing radio though.
I’ve got to look into what software it supports would be nice if I can use serato but if not I’ll use virtual dj.
I’ve been a bedroom dj for about 15 years on and off playing a lot of different stuff mainly due to what I wanted being hard to source. Discogs has fixed that and I’ll Continue collecting vinyl to. For me hardcore 93 to 96 is what I like.Dj goonie
ParticipantI have found a numark mixtrack mk1 for 50 quid, so I’m going to buy it see what I think of digital mixing and if I like it I’ll upgrade to something a bit better. So then serato or traktor? I have downloaded serato intro allready but if traktors better I’ll give that a try

ParticipantThe only reason I liked the hercules was the light up jog wheel centres. I’ll knock it off the list. The jogs just look a bit small on the denon and no vu meters but I guess I don’t really need them due to autogain

ParticipantIt’s definitely me lol, if I set the bpms the same line up my cue point and drop the track in its fine. I’m new to all this and just wanted to have a play around with a program before I get a controller. It appears that I have a hell of a lot to learn in very different ways to the vinyl!
