Thanks, NP. IMO, there are 4 or 5 too many rules for running Traktor’s cruise mode..LOL. I’ll put it to the test later today or tomorrow when I set up MixVibe’s Cross DJ on the mixer.

What in the world!?! The SYNC button is truly a SYNC/PLAY button? LOL. Ok, I’m anxious to try it when I get home this evening. This is very interesting software. And no, I didn’t realize you can enter the name of the cue point in the locator bar which is pretty cool. I likes. BTW, how does the SYNC/PLAY button behave on the Denon MC6000? Are the Sync buttons on the MC6000 mapped to behave like the software, or is the SYNC/PLAY button only enabled via the software?

I did notice that the beat grids (and I’m assuming here) were just a tad bit off after importing from Traktor into MixVibes. It took me a second to figure it out, but I noticed that after about 7 seconds of trying to beat match a couple of tracks that one of the tracks fell out of sync where the beat grid appeared to have shifted some. In Traktor, I believe the beat grids were fine and didn’t shift.

Well, I took to Youtube to figure out how to beatgrid a track and trashed the one currently set in MixVibes. I then allowed MixVibes to redo the beatgrid and everything was fine in Candy Land. I wonder if I need to trash the current beat grids rolled over from Traktor to MV before re-analyzing, or if I can simply re-analyze the tracks altogether. Hmmmm….

Ok, so that is the limitation; no hooking up to the controller. Seems pretty cool so far. I do like their Autoplay features better which have shuffle and repeat.

The only issue I’m having with the demo version is trying to figure out why the 2nd deck starts playing when I click the sync button. Is that suppose to happen or am I missing something? Maybe having the controller plugged in or the registered version will stop that from happening?

Good deal, Chuck. I’m going to try the Demo this week and see what happens.

Chuck – Have you used MixVibes Autoplay feature yet? And how was set up for your Denon MC6000?

@Gulli: Which is all fine until I touch a fader, a knob, or scratch my head and then Cruise Mode starts playing the second deck and loads the next track and I can’t stop it…LOL. Yes, I surely take 80% of the blame, but in my opinion to remember to do this and not touch that while CM is selected is just “WOW” to me.

On second thought. I was doing a little soul searching on the Denon 1200 and it appears the cd player doesn’t play MP3’s burned to CD’s. What kind of foolishness? The device plays MP3’s from a USB device. *SMH* I don’t like that and thought the 1200 would be a decent score.

With that said, I noticed that the Denon 3700 seems like it does play MP3’s burned to discs. What gives? So for another $400 I can have what I exactly want? Well, my thought process is this. I can try to buy a used player, but I’m also afraid that people sell bad players and I may get one without a warranty. Then I’m stuck. That’s why I at least wanted to buy a new player and be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty say the least.

I know folks recommend buying used CDJ’s (or CD players) but aren’t you taking a huge chance buying used CD players that’s not covered under manufacturer’s warranty? Or, are these CD players built like tanks where the average consumer CD player would fail after so many uses?

It’s like a lawn service using Stihl products where the manufacturer use better parts for the professional versus a consumer buying a little handy lawnmower or weedeater for occasional upkeep of their own lawn.

Thanks, Chuck. As usual your advice is right on and very valuable. *SMH* @ my little ol $30 mic. I’ll probably end up simply using it for a back up and buying a Shure SM58 with the on/off switch plus a wireless mic system. Secured another gig yesterday evening for another shower next month from one of the guests that attended the relative’s…LOL. Things are looking up.

Hard lesson learned. I can’t remember what I was trying to do at the time, but I knew that by selecting/deselecting Cruise Mode that the volume would go either go up or down based on the faders in the software not on the mixer. However, I must have touched the mixer’s fader before turning off cruise mode.

Yeah, Traktor’s Cruise Mode is trash. In my opinion, that’s too much thinking when playing out.

UPDATE: So the event I did this past Saturday went very well. It was for a relative’s baby shower and it served as a time for me to promote my business which is why I asked the question earlier about which microphone I should use. Well, I ran into an issue with the “back up” wired mic I’d bought for $30. It served its purpose, but I’m wondering if I should’ve went ahead and purchased a better mic such as a Shure or Sennheiser for $100 or so, or if my little ol $30 microphone did ok for the event. The reason I am bringing this up is because I heard a lot of rumbling noises whenever someone got up to present a game, make announcements, etc. while holding the mic stand or microphone at the base.

After reading a couple of articles, they both said that using a High Pass Filter may have eliminated such rumbling noises, and/or turning down the EQ’s low frequency. Well, I did have the low freq. set at 3 o’clock at the event, but I also noticed when setting up the mic for the first time I heard rumbling noises before touching the mixer’s EQ.

In any event, there was a time during the event when I wish I did have the wireless mic system, but I was able to get by. Next time, I will have a wireless mic system on deck, but it is what it is I guess.

I don’t even know how having a wireless microphone will give off a good impression, just get the mic stand and a wired mic and your good to go. If you do get the wireless mic and it leads to more gigs let me know.

    lol…will do.

Thanks, Newport. About an hour ago I was heavily leaning towards just simply using the wired mic and calling it a day.
