ParticipantIt wasn’t letting me when I made the comment, and I can’t seem to move it after the fact.

ParticipantI commented on it on Soundcloud – loved the mix for the most part, until right near the end (the marker went on the wrong place in the track) – the point where it starts with the “insane” part is too insane. I debated posting that comment, but in the end, I decided I should because that was the point where I stopped listening after having listened to the first 18 minutes of a set that was only 20 minutes – that was where you lost me.

ParticipantSounds serious!

ParticipantI have been preparing like mad since it came up… I have my finishing tune selected, though will improv a lot of the set. The tune is a Ghetto Funk remix of Shirley Bassey covering “Light My Fire,” so in addition to sprinkling the opening bass from it throughout my set where I can, I’m also going to be dropping in some samples from James Bond here and there.
Going to be a LOT of fun!

ParticipantIt’s the latest Friday Flavourites posted in the Mixes section. Not actually a mixtape, just a recording from my show last Friday. I don’t think it’s really all that great, I’m still a total n00b, but he liked the music selection, felt it was very fresh.

ParticipantHowdy, Edgar, welcome!

ParticipantHonestly, VDJ was a bad enough fit for my workflow that, while VDJScript was indeed cool, it was not enough to make me stick with it.
That said, when mapping controllers in VDJ, it felt like there was this extra level of disconnect that I really didn’t care for. Maybe it’s something I would’ve sorted out eventually, but I can do much more powerful mappings in Traktor than I was able to in VDJ, after spending about the same amount of time learning how mapping worked.

ParticipantI followed Terry’s advice on the Sennheiser 201s, and have been very pleased with them. Astounding sound for such a low cost pair of headphones.

ParticipantYeah, I’m a Soundcloud Download DJ myself, I have so far purchased one album and one single, and the rest of my playlist is all freely downloadable.

ParticipantHi, Glenn, welcome!
Music is certainly what helps me keep it together.

ParticipantCongratulations, man!

ParticipantYeah, that was why I said “once you understand it.”
I’m a pretty serious geek, so tech to me is very easy to work with. Probably why Traktor fits my personal workflow best.

ParticipantHere’s the Friday Flavourites set for yesterday:
Friday Flavourites (12-Sep-14) @ Soundcloud
Friday Flavourites (12-Sep-14) @ Mixclouddeathy
Participant“We spent an arm and a leg for this gear, and dangit, I expect you to use it!“

ParticipantThe search term you’re looking for is “DVS,” which stands for “Digital Vinyl System.” Lots of controllers support it, yes.
