ParticipantI have not been impressed with MIK’s auto-cue-points.

ParticipantWhile one can use fonts to create their logo, it will be pretty visible to folks looking at it that it was made that way. I find it very beneficial to spend time practicing lettering – I would highly recommend looking at a lot of graffiti, pick up the styles and use that.

ParticipantI’ve played out quite a number of times since the last time I was able to log into the forum, but I won’t bother posting all of them… however, here’s my most recent, an 11 minute mixtape:
… and this was my last live set, which did very well on Mixcloud – 2nd in Electro-Swing, 3rd in Glitch Hop and 4th in Breakbeat.
Friday Flavourites (23-Jan-15)
I also released two new tracks since then. First up is a remix of Threshold by Cheeku and Aaron Watkins:
Aaron Watkins & DJ Cheeku – Threshold (deathy’s Glitch Hop mix)
… and a Christmas Ghetto Funk remix of the Jackson 5:
Jackson 5 – Santa Claus is Coming to Town (deathy’s Ghetto Funk remix)

ParticipantYeah, seems like a lot of us are starting to return now that the kinks are gettin’ worked out.

ParticipantRIAA correction? Is that where you stomp your feet and wish real hard that the internet revolution would go away?

ParticipantHowdy, Sentri, welcome!
I too have been making music for a long time (almost 30 years now), but just recently started getting into DJing. It has been a whole lot of fun, and I’ve also found that it has helped to improve my composition because I have a better idea of what makes a song fun for a DJ to play – and we definitely want the DJs playing our tracks.

ParticipantMy folder structure is currently more complicated than it needs to be, as I was still nailing down what I’d be playing before I set it up.
Right now, it mirrors Wikipedia’s “List of electronic music genres,” but that is complete overkill since most of those folders are empty.
I intend to change it up to probably just a handful of folders for the different genres that I play, which is a much smaller list.

ParticipantHonestly, the whole concept of charging to use the nice gear sounds a bit shady to me… why would a club manager deliberately cripple themselves just to charge a few extra bucks to use the nicer gear? Their money is made from the club goers, not the DJs.
Confusing.
