ModeratorSure. You can’t upload pics directly. But you can post a link to any online picture. I use a site called Tinypic.com, where you can upload your pic and then use the URL to post here. Hope that helps.

ModeratorTrying to understand the exact problem here. Essentially you are saying that the beatgrid is off?

ModeratorGlad you got it fixed

ModeratorDon’t tell me the NVII is USB-Powered, Todd?

ModeratorHave to look up Vantage and see if that is better than Vintage … rofl

ModeratorDidn’t have this problem. Did you lose the actual tracks or just the info from Serato (i.e. beatgrid, etx.)?

ModeratorHoi Jeroen! Welcome to the forums. Thanks for the introduction. There are quite some fellow Dutchies around, surely some from your region.
Enjoy your time here.

ModeratorFirst, there is no GUARANTEED way to make this work.
FAT32 to NTFS is pretty straightforward (tool in windows), the other way around needs an external tool like this: http://www.disk-partition.com/free-partition-manager.html
That said, you need to make a back-up first ALWAYS! And if you are making a backup anyway, you might as well just re-format the drive, making sure it’s a clean format, then copy back the backed-up files.
Apart from this process, I’d feel really, really uneasy if all my music sat in one, single place. So, if you can, get a second drive (minimum as large as the space currently used, doubt you have 1TB of music – and if you do you need to rethink that strategy 😀 ), make a clone (exact copy), reformat the old drive to FAT32. Then copy back the files from the new drive to the old one. CHECK if everything is there and working as expected. Finally make another clone so the new drive is also FAT32. Now you have a live copy of your music that you can immediately swap out in case of hard disk failure of your primary drive.

ModeratorAll controllers mentioned in my reply have that. No worries there. Usually a controller will either have NO soundcard (like the regular not the pro Mixtrack) or it will have the option for stereo master out and headphones.

ModeratorIf you want to stick with Traktor software, there is really one piece of good advice and that is to get a Traktor controller. Their entry level is the S2, which you can buy or used.
All other software it’s better to not use the Traktor controllers.
Numark = fine
Vestax = no longer supported as manufacturer went out of business. Don’t burn your fingers on it unless you like fiddling around with computers and even then there is a moment in the future that it just won’t work anymore.
Hercules = far be it from me to trash anything, but I would not recommend the Hercules.
Behringer = up to you. While some of their gear is ok or even good, overall I have been disappointed too many times and gave up on them a long time ago. Some other controllers to consider:
– Numark Mixtrack Pro (1, 2 and 3)
– Pioneer DDJ-SB (all versions), DDJ-RB (but only if you are sure you want to use RekordBox and only RekordBox)
– Reloop Beatmix 2 (all versions)
– Denon MC2000 (no longer produced, bit should be available second-hand)All these controllers are natively supported by almost all major DJ software, giving you a chance to figure out what software you like best without having to change controllers to accomodate that switch.

ModeratorThere are some wifi options to stream sound from a tablet to and then into a mixer or amplifier or speakers. That said, they all have to deal with latency, the delay that comes from using wireless connections. So, DJ-ing would be tricky that way as there is a time difference between the actual sound that reaches your ears and the stuff you do to prepare the next track for mixing in.

ModeratorYeah, yeah, go see a barbershop and get a really short cut!

ModeratorIt’s PA, you know our mantra here “You get what you pay for, no shortcuts” 🙂

ModeratorWith all due respect, Bob V, that is a sure way of becoming a human jukebox, imho.
You can ask for global things like yes or no for certain genres, or particular tracks that have school history, but I would never ask for a playlist. That would take away too much of the creative process of DJ-ing.
Just my three cents as usual
