ModeratorDid you call Denon DJ/InMusic? Or regular Denon or Denon Professional. Different companies 🙂
What country are you in.
They should be able to deliver a spare one to you.

ModeratorIt would be like investing in old versions of gear that (at least in our digital DJ’s eyes) is obsolete even in it’s most current incarnation.
Also, most used Pioneer gear has led a hard life on the road or in a club. Either that or if they are/look good they are way more expensive.
700 bucks will get you a number of very decent all-in-one controllers. And if you are just starting, I’d even start with a true starter controller. Couple of hundred dollars new or way less used. It would give you a chance to see how you like DJ-ing on a controller and if you decide t you like it you can then upgrade to a better controller and if you feel CDJs are the way to go for you won’t have spent the a fortune on the wrong gear.
Buying on impulse and because something is priced very attractively is usually a bad move.
Be sure to read up on our “recipe” for picking a controller. It is useful in this case as well.

ModeratorI wonder what he has done to wear out the center logo on the jogs, probably used it while wearing a ring or bracelet or something I guess.
In general you can buy this stuff second-hand, as it generally tends to be used in bedroom practice only with perhaps the occassional house party. Scratch marks like these would worry me if they were clear wear signs around faders for example (those that have seen club DJMs know exactly what I mean).
Missing caps can be replaced easily enough, although to be missing a cap like that could be (another) indication of how this unit was treated. Do you have the option of seeing the gear before you buy?

ModeratorI’d be more worried about the internal memory (RAM). It comes with 4GB, where I’d suggest having 8GB.
Another speed booster is using an SSD instead of a regular HD.
Replacing/upgrading memory and HD will financially put you much closer in the category of an i5 with that stuff already built-in.
More important is what software you are going to use and what kind of DJ-ing you will be doing. Clearly if you intend to integrate video you will need different specs than if you do “flat” open format DJ-ing.
Lots of use of FX and things like Pitch-n-Key, slicing and such may also quickly up the load for the CPU.
Hard for us to give you a definite answer, but these are some factors to consider.

ModeratorYep, if the attached cable to the speakers has a 3.5mm plug, the adapter you linked should do the trick.

ModeratorHow about just daisy-chaining your signal (your amp probably has a line out as well as a line in) for testing purposes. This guarantees that both get an identical signal.

ModeratorThere are USED MCX8000s out there already? The thing just launched a few months ago. Sure you got the right number? LOL
Anyway, pretty much standard stuff for every controller:
– faders, buttons and knobs
– jogs
– displays and meters
– inputs and outputs
– visual inspection (scratches, dents)Check for proper operation.
Also get a general impression of the unit. Well-cared for on the outside usually says something about the way it was treated. Stained, dusty or generally poor looking might indicate that all the mechanics have had to suffer as well as a result of “rough” treatment.

ModeratorOne thing I know about many AA speakers is they also have mic inputs. Could it be you accidentally used those? The line level difference is rather large and the signal passes through the mic pre-amp before being offered to the built-in amp and could very well cause the behavior you mention.

ModeratorNot up to speed on the intricacies of RB backup/restore or it’s folder structure in detail. Sorry.

ModeratorWhat adapter you need depends on the ports on your MacBook. If it has Thunderbolt port then that adapter, otherwise the USB-C. USB-C can only be found on a hand full of very recent MacBooks. It WILL become the connection of the future for Apple as well or so it seems.
