ModeratorThe last part is what has me confused. Are you using a different file format for these newer files?
Chuck Van Eekelen
ModeratorA setting of 1 means that if you hit play the track will start playing on the first new beat of the playing track. The lower the setting (1/2, 1/4, etx.) the more “snappy” your play button will react, but you need to be more accurate in hitting play. And so it all depends on your playing style. If you cue juggle, you might want a short setting for example. Again, you need to play around with it, try a few things out and see which suits your way best.

ModeratorThere are two places for album art to go, one is with the track, the other is with the folder. Could you mistakenly have put the art in the wrong place?

ModeratorWhat software are you using?
Chuck Van Eekelen
ModeratorClearly this depends on location and your reputation. You will have to do the research in your area, get acquainted with an agency and then it’s still a question if they will get you gigs. Most likely not right in the beginning and you might have some sort of apprenticeship first.
On the whole I’d say doing your own scouting gives you better control over what is and isn’t done to land YOU some more gigs.
And if you have read all that is being said about that here, I’d say get out there and start hustling!

ModeratorHey Richard, kudos for tenacity m8!
With the above settings, you should have fader 1 up (at least a bit, for testing better fully open), and then fader 5 (the one marked white) would be red and fader 6 (marked UV) would control green. Blue would (unfortunately) be outside the control scope of the controller.
While the faders are marked RGBWAWU, this is just a Chauvet choice. All the faders (should) do in manual mode is send a value from 0 (fader closed) to 255 (fader fully up) on each of the channels 1 thru 6. DMX is dumb, so it has not clue, nor does it care what is on the receiving end.
When your fixtures receive some value between 1 and 255 on channel 5 and 6 they should open up red and green lights, with the 1 fader controlling the overall dimming of the color mix.
I don’t think your fixtures have mode settings, but you can check in your manual. If they do this might give you a 4- or 5-channel mode that will put blue back inside the 6-channel range of the Obey6.
Good luck.

ModeratorWait! You ment the XDJ1000s mk2, not the CDJ1000s mk2!
Misread that one I guess, LOL.
In this case forget what I said in my first reply about the CDJs.
You could …. ! …. save up some more, hang in there a little longer and go for the Denon Prime series of course. Modular, big jogs, the best laptop-free implementation I have seen so far and while I’d always suggest finally getting two players, you CAN get away with using one in the beginning as they – like controllers – feature dual layer capability.Oh well, plenty for you to think about I guess.

ModeratorThe first part of my comment was personal, the second part general (noticed the “guys” and “gals” bit, indicating multiple non-specified individuals?). Sorry if you feel offended.
Unfortunately, this happens weekly because people don’t take the time to figure things out before posting. And since we (moderators) do this totally voluntary, next to pretty busy paid jobs, it helps if people do their part and make our life’s a little easier. We prefer spending our (limited and valuable) time answering questions over chasing down stuff like posts in the wrong forums, all caps headers and such.
Glad you got your question answered. As we are independent from the main site and have nothing to do with the courses and I personally haven’t seen the entire new course yet I could not have told you the difference (yet).

ModeratorYep, not a good idea. For one, figuring out where to put your cue points is gonna help you get acquainted (intimately) with your track and will give you an increasingly better understanding of song structures. It also makes you ask yourself the question why it is at a certain point that you would want a cue point. Is it because it has a nice low energy break that you could through an acapella over? Because the outro starts there? Because the track has a short outro and you want to place an end-of-track 8-bar loop there. It has a very long intro and you want the track to start 8-bars before the first drop for mix-in purposes.
Or perhaps you like cue juggling and mashing up tracks that way.So, even if possible (MiK, DJ Pools or even -if they exist- lists with cue points), it’s like skipping an essential part of becoming a DJ.

ModeratorIf you want to use them with software, the XDJs are your only choice.
If you want to use them with USB-sticks, the XDJs are your only choice.
If you want to use CDs, the 1000s are your only choice.
If you want to spend over 2K on a system that can do less than your beatpad2, but has bigger jogs, go for either player with a 450 mixer.Frankly it’s not what I would do. Buying a Pioneer (if your set on them) XDJ-RX is a better bet. If you are willing to try something else, the Denon MCX-8000 is worth a second and perhaps third look. Both come in a lot cheaper than the options yous asked about and provide more functionality.
Just my two cents as usual.
Chuck Van Eekelen
ModeratorVery personal choice. Can’t really advise on that one.

Moderator90 people indoor. That means about 450 RMS. Without wanting to stereotype, I am running on the assumption that you want a nice sound but nothing ear shattering.
Portability is key.
I am, personally, not to big a fan of the units Zoo suggested, but that is personal.
My choice would be a compact set (used if you can find them) like the LD Systems Dave (8) or HK Audio Lucas Nano (300). Not necessarily these, there are many more brands that have sets like it. But these will give you an idea of what I mean. While small, their size belies their performance.

Hope that helps some.

ModeratorOk. Not a problem.

ModeratorHi Ritz, welcome to the forums. Enjoy your time here.
We don’t give answers to question that are intended to circumvent legal issues. In case of Soundcloud so many times in recent years things have changed and changed again I am gonna leave this one open to the readers.
I did noticed you posted this twice, please don’t do that again. I will remove your other identical post.
