I never DJ off my external, that simply mirrors my internal had and is for back up only. Every DJ I know with large capacity external drives that they filled never has a clue what’s on them 🙂

I went with the USB 3 version of that drive, The HD710 🙂

I’ll be using Serato DJ to perform on and then use Winamp to broadcast to a shoutcast server.

    Nice one!

I on the other hand along with many other people, Are seriously fucking frustrated…

First initial release: 1st of November, For which 2 were only allocated to my retailer I pre-ordered from
We was told stock would be coming in a week after that – It didn’t happen, Then we was told it was to be the 14th.. and now maybe tomorrow. But now according to Sales at Pioneer the shipment won’t be at the UK until the 26th.

I for one have been very excited since October 7th, and indeed the day’s leading up to the 1st.

and while I was writing this…

Just this moment had a phone call from DJkit to say they’ve got some stock, and that my DDJ-SX is Ready for shipping!!!

I just hope those who pre-ordered from DJkit also get that phone call today 🙂

    Thanks for your replies..

Well, my laptop has an 240GB SSD, But to be fair I’ve always liked to keep my machine clean and free as possible. Now, I don’t aim to put my whole music collection on the external. Hell I don’t think my Hardstyle collection even amounts to 200GB. I’d just like a central location where my music can be hooked up and managed and take it where I go.

First of all, Congratulations! You’ve nailed the basic and a core skill of DJing!

and secondly to answer your question – Nope not at all! Use a method that suits you best!

Just keep practising to get the time it takes to beat match lower 😀

After checking out that Wix, It’s pretty cool service and such will I think re-launch my website with them for the simple reason I love the simplicity of being able to get the design I want real quick without having to spend hours coding HTML/CSS and Designing in Photoshop.

Need to actually take some time to sit down, find out how to connect my mixer to my comp and get started! I know there’s an article about it on here somewhere so i’l be sure to check it out. I’ve got the limited edition CDJ400’s and DJM400 Mixer so it can’t be that hard to do! 🙂

Are you using a timecodes? or just CD/USB?

Hopefully the shipment will be arriving today, and I’ll get mine on Friday, a bit disappointed at how Pioneer have handled the UK side of things.
