MemberYeah! I like these guys! Have not heard any glitch hop before, and I was worried it was going to be too much like dubstep, which I’m not really into. But as Kyle put it, it’s got that extra swing and it’s kinda funky.
Nice one.Bunyip
MemberWelcome midiOcore. I joined this forum few months ago and I’d have to say I reckon it’s the best DJ related forum going. Good community of friendly DJs who are willing to help out. And Phil and Terry aren’t too bad either. :-p
Stay safe and I hope you enjoy exploring your new kit when you get back home.Bunyip
MemberWelcome Gordon. We get so many intros, but as Terry says, yours just oozes with passion for the music.
Maybe oozes is the wrong word…

MemberI suggested he add level 7.

MemberHey Gcue, welcome. Nice setup you have there and a wonderful part of the world you live in. I spent quite a while there when I was backpacking in the late 80s. Th one thing That stuck in my mind about SB was how everyone stopped to watch the sun set over the water. Beautiful vibe.

MemberIt is quite insane. The legal BS which is designed to protect is one of the greatest reasons to go looking for illegal downloads.

MemberHi Swaiy, I’m in Melbourne as well and an old school spinner who’s cashed in his CDJs for a controller (still have one turntable though). You’ll have fun here, they’re a good bunch of friendly, helpful people.

MemberDefinitely Natalie Faith. As a brand name it does so much to set yourself apart from the masses and, it just SOUNDS like the name of a star. You’ve nailed it.

MemberMe too. The funny thing is that the radical gear at my wine bar gig is my “record player” and my records. Many of the regular punters havn’t seen one since they chucked theirs in a dumpster back in the 80s. It’s great though, because people are always coming up and telling me how they miss their vinyl. It’s become a feature of the night, and even inspired the name of the gig: Vino di Vinyl.

MemberGreat story Broom, and I’m so glad it was a good result for you.
I’ve never played with a musician but I can imagine it must be great fun.
Maybe I’ll see you when you come to Australia on your next World Tour!

MemberShould be fun. let us know how it goes Broomptish.

MemberThat is a banging story!
Proof that it’s not about the gear, but something far more important – Pure, positive minded determination.
Good on you and thanks for sharing it.
I’m sure one day you’ll be sitting with the judges watching some young kid going for it, and thinking of this story.Bunyip
MemberIn a nutshell your plan is: I am going to get off my arse and hustle.
This is 90% of getting gigs.
I think your approach is smart and if your passion stays alive, you’ll achieve your goal and beyond, no matter what style you play. Good luck!Bunyip
MemberLooks like you sorted it – well done chaps. What a nightmare.
Did you refuse to DJ at some dodgy Russian Internet Crime lord’s wedding or something??Bunyip
MemberIt’s brutal!
I don’t want their crappy Viagra substitute. -
