ParticipantThink he gave up on the TM2 and is now looking to get a different controller. May be wrong tho.

ParticipantUnless it has something to do with a flight case it may be best if you open a new thread.
This way it is more likely you will get the replies you are looking for.BoomBox
ParticipantHello Gary and welcome along!

…Best post in this thread!
Bars vary so greatly in my opinion that is impossible to generalize the DJ approach. Unlike clubs, people go to bars for many different reasons.
That said, what i like about playing at bars is you get to see how people react to new tracks without the risk of having to reset your session. Just play the odd new track you like and look for the usuals – foot tapping, head/shoulders moving, fingers, etc… If everyone seem indifferent just diss it and move on to the next song – but when you see people reacting just tag it appropriately. On top of all that your mixing skills matter less in a bar. If you bodge a mix or two people are less likely to notice that.Oh… and i have pulled considerably more girls at bars comparing to clubs…. So bars ain’t that bad as far as i concerned… It could just be sheer luck tho.

At this moment in time i believe this is the best money for value controller you can get…. and some.
Only time will tell (as it is still a new controller) but in my opinion is, Reloop undersold themselves a bit here.Having owned the TM4 for a bit now the only three things i dislike about it is the stupid encoder knob they used instead of regular pots in the FX section, the fact you cannot have a constant dim light on on your buttons so you can easily see them in a dark DJ booth, especially the cot cue/sampler, and the fact the VUs are Maser volume only – why oh why…!

Just make sure when you install a new program you only install it for the user you need to.

ParticipantI have been using Win 7 since its beta came out and i’m still to see a BSOD, which was not forced by me. I agree that windows had its issues in the past but come on… today it is plenty good and stable enough to run a DJ software.

ParticipantThanks Terry, hopefully this will help people who are looking for a flightcase but do not want to drop a ton!

ParticipantPhil, are you saying TM4/TM2 have worse jogs than VCI300?
BoomBox
ParticipantYeah, i’m also very happy with the fact i lifted the whole controller up on 4 eraser blocks and thus providing breading space underneath as well as very nice storage room for an extra hard drive and all cables including spares. And to top it all off, I also seem to have found a cheap and easy solution to dark DJ booths
Used a spare LED strip i had purchased a while back and stuck it to the back lip of the tray pointing towards me. As I can adjust the brightness and the colours via the LED remote control i now can fit into any venue theme colours and no longer have to carry a spare usb light and look like i am welding something in the DJ booth 😀

ParticipantI agree with Terry here. If you are looking for tight integration then Jockey 3 is the best choice. Terminal Mix 2 is also good if TM4 is anything to go by.

ParticipantBest for what? Portability, performance, price? 2 deck – 4 deck?

ParticipantApparently the tracks will be stored on the computer in a virtual locker. you get to listen to them for the duration of the subscription and if you want to purchase them you can do that too. Subscriptions will be based on the size of the locker i have been told. No idea how will they get all companies to agree on a standard tho…

ParticipantGet a flightcase and the plastic chassis should make no difference ;).
