iTunes Match. It is £22 per year here and stores up to 25k songs. Well worth the money imo and the best bit is you won’t have to upload most of your collection.

May I suggest you download Serato Intro to avoid panic and disappointment 😀

Or if the screen resolution was not much of an issue and you are on a tighter budget – you can always buy Dell Inspiron 14z and install OSX on it. Apparently it works flawlessly out of the box. Only thing is Dell only make it with 720p display.

How come this is $300 less in US than in UK? What happen there?
While I can see myself selling my TM4 to get this for $1000, there is absolutely no way I’m going to buy this for $1300.

The new 13″ Macbook Air actually has higher resolution than the new 13″ Macbook Pro and the same resolution as the 15″ Macbook Pro – 1440×900 vs 1280×800 on 13″ MBP.
The upside on the 15″ MBP is that you can actually upgrade the display, for an extra £80 to 1680×1050.

You can always go for the 15″ retina display if your budget allows it and at 2880×1800 you can have everything turned on, on any software, and still have plenty of empty desktop space. Not exactly the budget laptop though…

Twice the price of Traktor and 33% more that VDJ upgrade (which many believe is on the expensive side already).
I understand Traktor is very aggressively priced and didn’t really think Serato would go that route, however as i said above, i expected a price far lower than the $200 stated.

Also, don’t forget that VDJ and Traktor offer a choice of virtually any controller, while with Serato you must have a Intro controller in the first place.

Not too keen on the $200 upgrade. Personally thought it was going to be a lot less.

once you set your cues, lock the track from that little padlock in Traktor. Then when you copy the track to a new computer the software will recognize all cue points you have previously set.

They invest a lot of money into their “Icon” promotions, but seem to have to few programmers really doing work on their products or whatever… sad. If this holds on I will permanently switch to another solution.

    This!

Why does Serato refuse to make money on introducing an upgrade path to their Intro is beyond my retail comprehensions.

First you release a software (some might argue is good introductory software), i personally believe is nothing more than a demo version of a real software, then bundle it with some pretty powerful controllers, only to cripple their potential.

Then, when people are actually taken by the demo and want to give you some money for a full version you say – NO! That is some strange marketing in my books.

get data back – either 32 or 64bit.
and DO NOT – i repeat DO NOT write any data to the hard drive, or partition where the music was. If you have to – go buy a new small HDD and reinstal OS there. Then plug the HDD where the songs were and recover with get data back.
