First off, I’m reluctant on Wix, only because I’m seeing Flash becoming the bastard child of the net with all the anti-flash sentiment out there. I am happy to see Wix gives you a mobile counterpart, as there is a mobile site that shows up when I looked at it on my Android tablet. If you’re not paying anything right now, keep it. Grow from it, but down the road if you grow as a DJ then think about your own hosting.
I would tell you to invest in a domain name, like icemanDJ.com (it’s available) or djicemen.net (it’s available). Do just a redirect to this site, so it becomes easier to spread your name and site around.
The purple text looks ok, but it gets harder to read on the moon. I’d also suggest on your home page you put some kind of “news” as the primary thing. An even you’re playing, a new mix you posted, etc.
When you post events, put details. Not just you and a name of a venue. Post what the event is about, cover, dress code, specials, address, etc. Make it easy for people to come check you out.
Love the videos. Keep doing them. The New Jack Swing mix is cool…you have an MP3 of it?
I’d change the “Articles” to “Press”. That’s what you’re posting. Press about you. So this is advertisement and thus you should name the section “Press”. “Articles” makes me think it’s a blog.
You should post a clickable link to your blog and any other social media. I see them in your contact section, but I can’t click on them. You have to make it easier on the user or else they won’t bother.
Keep it up! Evolve. My website might look amazing now, but look back to when I was also a rank amateur trying to figure it out. Every site is a slow evolution…just keep updating and growing.
thank you this is just the kind of feedback i was looking for

That is why I waited this long to post it.But my true oppinion on this matter stays unchanged.
If you are a pro DJ you should play wirth pro gear IMO!
A carpenter does not use 3rd quality cheep stuff at least not here, so why should a DJ
be satisfied with that?I have tried those cheap controllers and it took me abut 10 sek to bash them all.
They have 2nd or 3rd quality buttons and hardware. It feels and looks like a toy!
Try setting a Denon or Pio product beside one of them and feel all the buttons and knobs
then you know what I mean. That is why I waited till the Denon MC6000 before I even thoght about digital DJ’ing
It is the first controller worth paying for IMO.I know that there is some of you that does think different but it will not change my oppinion.
I have been a DJ since 1980 and has always played on top quality gear on giggs.
//DJ Hesslerive always used pcs and had NO PROBLEMS. its just in how you use what you got. right now my “weapons of choice” are the vms4 and a vestax typhoon(yes a typhoon) and i play some of the biggest spots in my state and in other states as well. im original from new york and been djing since 85 and im from the era where you just made due, hell we had to kick open the streetlamps to get electricity!! and im in no way trying to slight you when i say this, cause if youve been doing this since 80 you must be an amazing dj,but the fact that “youve ALWAYS played on top quality gear” kind of disturbs me, cause i feel you missed one of the most important parts of progression as a dj working your way up from the crappy beltdrives having to hardwire your own amps, shooting the wd40 on your fader all the crap made me a better dj and i wouldnt take it back for the world. i call it the basketball syndrome i found that as a kid,the kid that came to the basketball court with the brand new nike gear and the freshest sneakers brand new without a skuff on them wound up being the WORST players, cause they worried more about looking good than actually playing well. but i do see your point and respect your oppinion. i just get tired of these kids with “all the latest gear” and they SUCK!! have the latest and greatest dosent make you a great dj,it just makes you a sucky dj with all the latest gear lol

ParticipantDJ GRE, post: 9254 wrote: I agree, but with hip hop DJs it seems it is just so embedded in their culture that they are having the hardest time adjusting to the change in the DJ culture as a whole. I was listening to a DJ the other night and she was (yes, SHE) was going hard! – great song choices, VERY smooth transitions – NO scratching even though she was using Pioneer CDJs w/ Serato timecode. Anyway, another DJ was standing next to me and I mentioned that she is doing great and his response was – “yeah but she’s just playing music, I like to actually DJ.” – emphasis on the DJ portion like what she was doing wasn’t actually DJing. I know the guy and he is a very scratch heavy DJ and labels everything (house, dubstep, trance etc.) “techno” – so I feel that once they put themselves in the hip hop category there is a heavy tendency to write everything else off.
Now i tend to lump different genres together as well, but im not in denail about my ignorance. i just never took the time to try to figure out the diffrence between dnb, trance, techno, industrial, deep house and dubstep,so i label it all as edm. but i am a 30 year hip hop dj so for 30 years ive been going through the same thing, meaning that most people just consider rap as being”hip hop” but a lot of people dont realize that the roots are much deeper and run to this day with regggae, soul, rock, pop, and jazz, but to be on subject hiphop djs are too set in their ways to fully embrace change till they have to.digital djing will catch on but it will be slow going like the acceptance of the cdj.

ParticipantLew, post: 9202 wrote: What’s your opinion on the platters between the two, iceman?
the mixtrack pro does feel a little more toy like and the sound out put isnt as good as the typhoon but,i dont like the faders for gains ans having to load an extra driver is a pain. but when i got my vms4,i wound up keeping the typhoon cause of the size and sound output and i like the platter movement on the typhoon but i like the platter size on the mixtrack pro
