To be honest as far as hearing damage headphones are the nicests thing for your ears.nicer then even nature,i’ve had headphones on every day for the past 18 years, and im 22 this year.I went to have my hearing checked,i’ve got the hearing of a 16 year old.

To be honest here,my opinion on the sync button pretty much is the same as everyone elses here,It’s a tool to be used if you need it and when you need it.I will often use the sync button when im doing 4 deck performance or live remixing heck i’ll even use it when im doing just two deck mixing, granted i’ll try and get the tracks tight as i can by my self manualy but if i ain’t satisfied with it i’ll hit the sync just to make sure it’s tight as can be.This whole sync-no sync argument within the DJ scene is pointless and if you actually stop and think about it very very dumb.Scracth DJs won’t use it and so far they’re the loudest to complaign about it,i say shut up and live with it,use it if you want if not then i don’t care what you do,remap the button, key it,i don’t care just shut up about it.

My 2 cents.Sorry if i came off a bit harsh.

    >.> as a hardstyle man i take big offence to this, while distortion is present in music it is often far more ear friendly then you portray.

On a side note learn about presures,it’s not distortion that kills your hearing though it does assist in it,it’s the decibel presure build up from the presure waves.Sound, any sound,is essentially just a presure wave traveling through air at a serten frequency that we identify as a serten sound.Distortion aids the degredation of hearing but it self on it’s own has an almost negligable effect.

It’s one of the biggest fears of every DJ.And as for listening to music in public,i duno,i just one of the many spare headphones i have, headphones strike me as the only alternative to earbuds really, there’s not much technology developments and breakthroughs in this area, which honestly is a real shame.

Actually surprisingly i found a few studies on this that say earbuds do more damage to your hearing then being next to the speakers at a rave.Best things for listening to music period if you wanna save your ears are headphones and the knoledge of how and when to turn down the volume. We all love loud music but if it’s too loud no matter through what you listen to it,you’ll get hearing damage.

If there is any link to such a thing on this site, let me know so I can kill it …

VDJ can split stereo into 2 mono channels, it is in the sound settings.
But the dj2go comes with a totally dumbed down version. Most VDJ LE versions can do it, but I am not sure about the one the dj2go comes with, after all it is marketed as a toy and not a DJ controller.

Traktor on the other hand is a very complicated piece of software and as there is no mapping for the dj2go (and I am unsure if all its midi commands work well) I doubt it will solve your problems.

I stand corrected. After two years of using and exploring the anals of VDJ i have finally today found how to split the stereo into mono channels in VDJ.I appologize for my ignorant arrogance.Your wast knowledge of the forementioned program by far is greater then mine.My hat’s off to you sir.

You honestly shouldn’t,it’s not to the hardware but to the software,Virtual DJ has a built in flaw that it can not split the stereo into two mono channels and use then as channels for mixing,Traktor can but Virtual DJ can’t.You should just get Traktor and learn from there.

In all honesty this discussion is at this point beating a dead horse with a tank.Sync is here to stay and it’s a valuable tool, people need to get over it and people need to stop encouraging people who don’t approve of the faeture to speak up.No one really cares weather you use the sync button or not,DJing is about the music, weather it’s digital djing using CDJs,controllers, vinyl, old school with vynil or just djing with a laptop,it is always about the music.

My DJ software is what ever software i decide to open for a gig, mainly i decide this by how much i want to limit my self to for that gig.Reason why,i really don’t know,i’ve used everything from Mixx to DJay to traktor and Virtual DJ,all Serato softwares and even some more obscure softwares that i don’t even care to remember the names of,and to be honest,I’ve found every single one just as easy to use as all others.Maybe it’s just me but software doesn’t make a huge difference to me,it just lets me eliminate the functions that i don’t plan on using for that time. Then again most DJ software i’ve seen is pretty much self explanatory and easy to figure out with just intuition and logic.

I had a similar expirience to Nietsky’s the other night, playing a great electronic dance music set there’s over 100 people on the dance floor in a club that holds 150 people and the manager comes up to me mid mix telling me to change the music to mainstream or get out.I stopped the music got on mic and told the people about it,they boo him off the stage and let me continue on.Minutes later the owner walks onto the stage and offers me possition of manager,he apparently fired the guy imediatly.

On another gig about a week before that i got almost the same expirience as cRave, but being that i my self am bi and kind of make a big deal of the gay things,i packed my stuff the moment it happened and told the management i’ll never play at that club again.

I’d pick the mixtrack, but the MK I…personal pref…but the VMS might offer slight bit more, not much mind you but thing you your self might value.Don’t relly too much on other peoples opinion, form your own and stick to it.If you can find a place where you can demo each of them and see what feels best and what offers you the things you need and want from a controller.

Honestly do what you think suits you man.Experiment at home and perfect it then take it out. It’s what everyone does.I my self am working on a home-made custom built controller that is my spinn-off of the midi fighter and is based on a joypad. There’s no right and wrong with such things,i’ve seen guys playing at clubs, regular averige every day clubs, with setup you’d expect to see from a big shot producer/dj at a major event and i’ve also seen guys do amazing things with something as trivial as the Hercules Air.Key to this is what feels good to you ergonomically and figuring how to incorporate it.And that, none of us can tell you,you have to figure it out for your self.As I said,I’d personally go for the Midi fighter, but thats mostly because i like the feel of the older styled spring loaded arcade buttons.
