totally agree. And it’s feels really oversized. I do appreciate the space between all the controls, but the controller itself was huge! Not saying ht NS6 is that small, but it doesn’t seem to take up as much realestate. It could be the rounding on the edges of the controller and the size of the platters that make it seem so large.

MemberExactly. The build quality is excellent on the NS6. I think it justifies the price in a lot of ways. Combine that with it’s ability as a stand alone mixer and the kinds of outputs it has, and it’s really hard to beat. Throw in the full version of Itch, with 4 decks and lifetime updates, and that’s a hard deal to beat. I think beyond the NS6, I’d start to consider a DVS set-up because you are already getting up there in price. I think it’s can only be a good thing to know both pieces of software as well and there is no real easy way to test out Itch without a certified controller. Hanging out in Guitar center just creeps me out and I can’t stand there long enough to get a feel for Itch with random music.
Damn, now I’m doing math in my head figuring out how to get my hands on one.

MemberI have a Mixtrack Pro and agree it is an excellent controller to begin with. I would suggest considering the Mixtrack and a sound card also. I have had situations where i just wanted to mess around with the laptop and not get the controller out and wish I had a sound card. I am still considering getting an Audio2 DJ for those occasions, but I can’t say anything bad about the convenience of the controller being an all-in-one piece of hardware. So convenient and sounds great.

I have dreams about this. I played with one at Guitar Center. Wasn’t all that impressed by Itch, but i think it would just be something you have to get used to. The fact that you can midimap the NS6 for Traktor is the appealing part. Then you can do a real comparison between the 2 softwares. If someone figures out how to effectively map the touchstrip for Traktor, I think I might be sold.
