ParticipantAh yes my mistake with the cable name. I see, that’s good, one last thing – at the club they have an RCA cable that I was told plugs into the mixer from the PA – will the mixer have an RCA output?

ParticipantOk cheers 🙂 I’m pretty confident with the beatmatching aspect. On the 900s do you know how the cue points I’ve made in rekordbox come up on the waveform? Either the main one or the little bars at the bottom of the HUD? I ask because I use cue points in traktor as a visual guide on when to start playing my next track to mix in… otherwise I’ll need to make note of the times I need to take tracks out!

ParticipantBrilliant, I believe the set-up is pretty good – a 2000 and a 900 is what I heard so I’ll use rekordbox!

ParticipantKkk cool, I’ll just learn manually haha, thanks for the help

ParticipantI see, obviously I’d have to do some fine tuning regardless but I was just thinking that if say I had a 125 track and a 127 track I’d know I need to bring the track down slightly – it just gives me a more accurate ball park to work with if you know what I mean?

ParticipantOk thanks for the help – I think I’ll start trying to beatmatch on my controller by covering up the BPMs etc.
Last question, what do you mean by the CDJs being linked together? Do you mean the music from my USB Â will be available across both CDJs or will I have to bring a USB for each player? And what is the likelihood of them being linked together?

ParticipantOk so, I just asked one of the guy’s I’m DJing with who’s been to the gig before and he said that I could quite easily just connect my controller (Numark Pro) to the in-house mixer. I assume this would mean I wouldn’t need to get involved with the CDJs? I’m just thinking because my controllers really basic so I don’t want to confuse myself using something with a thousand buttons…
And if, for some reason, I can’t use my own controller, the 900s and 2000s fully integrate with Traktor so I can just play off my computer as per usual, then only use what I need… right?
And yeah Chuck it’s a private event

ParticipantOk thanks for the feedback so far! Just spoke to the guy organising it and the chances are that it won’t be a CDJ, so thats good. However, if it’s a different deck that doesn’t need CDs, say a Traktor S4, how is that gonna be, considering I’ve only ever used a Numark which is pretty basic… Will I be able to do everything I do on my decks on there?
Also, probably sounds silly but I’ve never noticed how DJs switch over between sets, how does that work? Is there a stop in the music that I’ve just never noticed or?

ParticipantOk, so if I’m gonna be preparing for the gig using the setup of my laptop (with all my music on there) and my mixtrack pro how’s it going to work transferring to the pioneer – how different/similar is it?
Also I’m just playing a half hour set at the moment – just after another guy who’s playing half an hour and just before an hour set. I know the pioneer CDJs are generally pretty developed in terms of they have similar things to what my laptop will have but how simple is the transition gonna be?
