ParticipantHi. You should be fine. The
Power input is AC 100V – 240V, 50/60 Hz, and output is DC 12V, 3A. The AC adaptor power supply and 1.5-meter USB cable are included.

ParticipantThere are actually quite a few tools out there that will help you get the best out the system you have. A member of this forum (DJ Subculture) sent me the following link which is for optimizing windows 7 but many tips are likely applicable for your Vista setup.
http://www.native-instruments.com/knowledge/questions/847/Windows+7+Tuning+Tips+for+audio+processingAlso, member Smitten put together a tutorial and set of script on DJ Tech tools that may also help you out.
http://www.djtechtools.com/2011/08/14/optimizing-windows-for-djing-part-i-power-script/I’ve had latency issues with TP2 on a quad-core desktop with 4x 2.8ghz processors and 4Gig RAM. Your issues may not be related to your processing power but instead something else. Also, as DJ Hessler suggest, TP 1.2.7 is much less taxing on your system.

ParticipantThanks for the cartridge recommendations as well as the cleaning tips. I need to replace my cartridges anyway so I was looking for something that is low wear but also will work well for recording. Seems like the Arkiv is the way to go. Thanks again!

ParticipantI’d like to echo what DJ Hessler has said in favor of the MC6000. The build quality is excellent. It works well with both Traktor and VDJ. The stand alone mixer lets you work with a variety of audio sources and gives you a lot of flexibility as you move forward with your DJing. I’ve been using the unit for around 8months and can’t recall a single instance when the “cramped” layout has ever caused an error in my mixing. Actually, I’ve heard and read more people in favor of the smaller size than those who find it to be a problem.

ParticipantLike D-Jam, I am still using my old Sony MDR-V6 headphones that I bought in 2001. They’ve been around the world and back and still haven’t failed. As for casual (commute) listening, I use a pair of UE super-fi pro5’s which I’ve had for 4 years that have two drivers–amazing headphones if you can get the fit right. I also own a pair of Shure Se115s that are a bit bass heavy but are really comfortable. I’ve also owned etymotics ER-6I’s and was really impressed with their isolation, tho I’d doubt they’d be work for a DJ situation given their lack of bass.

ParticipantI am also still on Traktor Pro 1.2.7 even after playing around with Traktor Pro 2. I just wasn’t impressed. At first it was very buggy and several of the first users on the NI forums felt like they were being used as guinea pigs. Perhaps they’ve fixed some of them since, but I’ll still wait for a few more patches before committing to an upgrade.
Also, like Liambo, if I want samples and loops, I just use one of the available decks in 1.2.7. I find the waverforms to be distracting more than anything…just another reason to stare at the screen tho I realize many prefer this function. Frankly, as a techno / house DJ, what I have now just works and I haven’t found anything in TP2 that I can’t do in TP 1.2.7.

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50103086On top I get 2 decks and a xone 92 mixer (similar in size to DJM i guess), also a xone 1d. The laptop and soundard fit on a stand. Underneath I have storage for my vinyl, I dont know the dimensions of the Akai, but I guess if it does not fit in below, you could use another stand, I have a trolley for my amp and other stuff close by.
I have almost the exact same thing with two Technics 12’s and a Denon Mc6000 between them. I actually went with two of the 2×2 versions so as to not have to put the unit on its side and risk putting too much pressure on the corners joints which weren’t meant to sustain weight. I have my Technics in flight cases and was extremely concerned about weight.
You can see a pic of my set-up in at this thread:
http://www.digitaldjtips.com/forum/threads/post-a-pic-of-your-set-up.90/Like Haroon said, the storage underneath is perfect for vinyl.

ParticipantI also own the Mc6000 in large part because of the reviews here. It came with vitural DJ here in the states but I’m using it with traktor v1.2.7. I’ve had no issues thus far but still keep track of the Denon DJ forums and I must say that the support is fantastic. Just this month they’ve released a new firmware update which includes full support for traktor 2 including control of sample decks and what not. As the others have said, the mc6000 is well built and you will not be disappointed. I run 2 technics 12s through two channels and run traktor through the others and could not be happier.
